UPDATE FROM COACH DYE:

HORNET FANS — KNOW THE NEW LAW!

Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, Texas SB 2929 gives game officials the authority to remove spectators immediately for disruptive or inappropriate behavior — no warning required.

High school athletics should be about the KIDS.

Cheer for our team.
Respect our opponent.
Respect the officials.
Keep it positive.

Players, coaches and officials put too much time into these games for the focus to become what happens in the stands.

Be loud. Be passionate. Support our school. Just keep it respectful. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Our HORNETS have been practicing hard this week. They will be scrimmaging the Gholson Wildcats in Gholson tonight (August 20th). Kick off is 6 p.m. GO BIG BLUE💙💙>>>>🏈

We want to send out a huge heartfelt thank you to the Walnut Springs Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Meridian Volunteer Fire Department on their prompt and thorough response to the fire adjacent to the school. Their work along side Robert Billman and Mayor Sammy Ortega made quick and efficient work to keep the school, community, and town safe. We appreciate all that you do!!! Please note that clean up will.still be happening tomorrow and possibly the rest of the week so the entrance to the back of the school and the New Gym parking lot off of Italia will be closed. Please make sure to use the front of the school off of Spain for all drop offs, walkers, and to get to the entrance of the New Gym.
