The Ballet School Performing Arts has been teaching dance in Walnut Creek since 1976. We are a family-owned and operated performing arts studio that offers diverse classes for all ages. We have ballet classes, actors studio, voice and piano lessons, as well as, drop-in classes like Zumba, Pilates, tap, and Broadway dance.

For nearly five decades, The Ballet School Performing Arts has been a place where students discover confidence, creativity, courage, and a love for the performing arts. And through our theatre program, students have the opportunity to step into new characters, tell stories, build friendships, and find their voice both on and off the stage.
Because theatre is about so much more than performing.
It’s about learning to take risks, working together, gaining confidence, expressing yourself, and discovering just how much you’re capable of. It’s about the laughter, the friendships, the unforgettable moments, and the confidence that carries far beyond the stage.
And we’re excited to share that our 6 WEEK THEATRE TRAINING CLASS begins the week of August 17th!
Whether you’re new to theatre or looking to grow your skills, this is a wonderful opportunity to train, explore, perform, and have fun!

What makes our school special isn’t found in a single performance or a list of accomplishments. It’s found in the teachers who believe in every student, the families who have trusted us for generations, the standing ovations, the quiet moments of encouragement, the laughter in the hallways, and the life lessons learned both on and off the stage.

Introducing Fundamentals of Broadway Dance!
This session-based class is designed for teens and adults who are newer to Broadway-style dance and want to build confidence in a fun, supportive environment.
We’ll break down the fundamentals step by step, giving you the chance to ask questions, develop your skills, and grow as a performer, without the pressure of having to already know it all.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your musical theatre training or try something new, this class is a great place to start.

🚨 NEW CLASS ALERT!!!!🚨
Intro to Creative Dance is the perfect first dance experience for little ones ages 18 months through 2 years (with grown-up participation). This class is designed to help young dancers build confidence, develop coordination, practice following directions, and become comfortable in the studio - all while creating joyful memories with their grown-up! It’s an excellent introduction for our youngest dancers, as well as for 2-year olds who may not be quite ready to participate independently. When they’re ready, dancers can transition to our Creative Dance class for ages 2 - 3, where they dance confidently in the studio on their own.

Fall Theatre Classes begin in just a couple of weeks, and we’d love to have you join us!
Whether your child is stepping on stage for the first time or is ready to build on their experience, our theatre program offers a place to grow in confidence, creativity, and performance.
Our theatre program begins with Pre-K Acting for ages 3–4, followed by Acting for ages 5–6. Students ages 7–10 can choose from Improv, Musical Theatre, and Stage Craft, with additional opportunities for teens through Teen Improv and our Teen Musical Theatre Workshop.
