California Implements New Law Requiring AEDs at Youth Sports Events 07/19/2023

California legislatures have enacted a new law requiring youth sports organizations to have AED's available to all athletes during any official practice or match. Here's the kicker (pun intended)... most the athletes won't be able to use them to save lives.

It seems the Senate Health Committe is unaware of how safe and easy to use AED's are, as they've limited their use to a select group of "qualified" individuals. I will note, that group includes those certified in AED use, so come take a class with us, but in the meantime, read more about this new law here:

May 9 marks National Fentanyl Awareness Day, dedicated to increasing awareness on the harmful effects of fentanyl, a highly potent synthetic opioid that is frequently found in illegal drugs. With up to 50 times the potency of he**in and 100 times the potency of morphine, even a small amount of fentanyl can be lethal.

This day serves as a platform to inform the public on the dangers of fentanyl, sharing stories of those impacted by fentanyl while also highlighting the resources available for those battling addiction.

Due to the severity of the public health threat posed by fentanyl, it is crucial to raise awareness on its dangers. National Fentanyl Awareness Day provides a valuable opportunity to achieve that goal.
