Summer 2026 is on! We kicked off the first week of camps last week. Boom! Blink and youโll miss it. These were a few projects made by our Studio Arts full day campers. Such a great group. Looking forward to all the creative chaos of the next nine weeks!๐๐จ๐๏ธ๐ผ๏ธ๐

Congratulations to all these amazing Rebel Assistants that are all graduating from LLHS today (my alma mater!)!! So so very proud of each of them for all their hard work academically, but also professionally. Theyโve busted their booties all year making the studios run smoothly hand in hand with Rebel teachers. I canโt wait to see what these yutes do in their next chapters! Congratulations!!๐

Rebel wouldnโt be Rebel without this outstanding crew of artists fostering their creative love to those who dare to explore and express (not pictured: Ms. Charlotte & Mr. Jamie, & all of our stellar assistants). Congratulations and the biggest heartfelt thank you to the Rebel Crew for another beautiful year! ๐๐ฝ๐

We want to share an important update with our community. After a thoughtful team discussion, our staff has decided to participate in the nationwide strike and shutdown on Friday, January 30, in protest of ICE and in solidarity with Minnesota. On this day, our studio doors will be closed as we take a collective stand. All staff members will be paid for the day and are free to use their time and voices in whatever way feels right for them. Because of this closure, all classes scheduled for 1/30 will be canceled.
If families would like a creative way to honor the day in lieu of class, we invite students to use their art as a tool for connection and care. Some ideas include:
-Creating a drawing or card to give to a neighbor, teacher, friend, or family member
-Making art that expresses kindness, hope, or solidarity
-Using art to reflect on community, fairness, or standing up for others
We understand that this decision may not align with everyoneโs views, and we respect that. At the same time, we feel itโs important to act in alignment with our values, and we hope our community will stand with us. As a small business owner, taking a public stance feels scary, but I believe this moment transcends politics and enters the realm of morality. When members of our broader community are harmed or marginalized, staying silent does not feel neutralโit feels like a choice. As a team, we believe we have a responsibility to stand up for our community, even when itโs uncomfortable.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

I could snuggle up with a cuppa tea, a fire, and look at this for hours. Loving this still life painting finished up by one of our Rebel Makers this morning. That color palette! Beauty!๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
