⚽️ Thursday: We team up against drugs! Wear your favorite team jersey

👻 Friday: We scare drugs away! Wear your Halloween costume to class

Now that we will be distance learning, here are some tips for a successful semester:

✔️ Use a planner to record all of your assignments, and check it every morning to make sure you stay on track

✔️ Set goals for yourself and write down what you want to accomplish to help keep you motivated

✔️ Stick to a schedule both for class work and activities to help keep you organized

✔️ Take breaks when you need them

✔️Ask for help when you need it

✏️Dear Fair Oaks Teachers and Staff,

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

I write those words with a laugh, because this is a week like no other in a school year like no other. Nothing about this school year is normal or familiar, and most of the ways we would normally celebrate you are impossible.

But, our gratitude is as deep as ever. You are still showing up for our kids. You still care about them, their education and their growth.

You were thrown, along with our kids, into a completely new form of education! As you’re sorting out a new way of doing your job, you’re also showing our kids a new way to do theirs. You’re finding ways to connect with them. You’re creatively figuring out how to guide them from a distance. You’re giving them space to talk about what to up to, helping them to feel connected to you and to one another from their homes. You’re also giving us grace as parents while we try to figure things out and while we juggle both our own work and our kids’ education. You are resilient, creative, and kind.

Today, you’re driving to our neighborhoods so our kids can see you in the flesh! What a beautiful reminder that we are all still here, isolated as we are. We are in this together.

So we thank you! We wish we could make you a big breakfast and cover the staff room with flowers. Instead, we’ll send you an email and plenty of love and gratitude.

We are so grateful for you. Thank you for caring well for our kids.
