When I first started My Lileigh Pad, my dream was simple. I wanted a place where parents could slow down, connect with their children, build friendships, and watch their little ones learn through play. I’ve always believed that play is one of childhood’s greatest teachers. Every sensory invitation, art project, and hands-on experience is helping build growing brains in ways that feel joyful instead of forced.

As My Lileigh Pad has grown, I’ve realized something else has become just as important to me: giving children the gift of being outside 🌲

Some of my favorite memories teaching at our Nature Preschool have been teaching in parks and the reservoir and watching children run, dig, splash, climb, create, and explore without worrying about making a mess. There’s something magical about learning in nature. It gives children the freedom to move, imagine, discover, and simply be kids.

Today’s children spend less time outdoors than ever before. Between busy schedules, screens, and shorter recesses, many don’t get the chance to experience the kind of outdoor childhood that helps them grow in so many ways. Time outside supports healthy development, encourages curiosity, reduces stress, promotes physical activity, and even benefits children’s vision and overall well-being.

That’s why we’re taking My Lileigh Pad parent & me classes outside!!!

It is time to move from our studio in Walnut Creek to moving our classes to the Lafayette Reservoir! We’re giving those experiences more room to grow. More space to get messy. More opportunities to explore. More chances to wonder, discover, and create surrounded by nature 🥹

Our goal has always been to help children fall in love with learning. Now we hope they’ll fall in love with the outdoors, too.
