🎃Spooky Run on Halloween🎃
The 7th Grade is hosting their third annual Spooky Run on Halloween (Friday, October 31). We will be using the outdoor track for a run/walk and will also be having a costume contest for the students! 🚨 SAVE THE DATE!
Friday, September 26th, 7 pm
📢 We were approached by the Philadelphia Eagles and accepted the opportunity to host the Eagles High School Football Showdown featuring Marple Newtown vs our Strath Haven Panthers.
🦅 This event will include appearances by Eagles legends, cheerleaders, SWOOP, and the Eagles Drumline. I understand that the Eagles cheerleaders and drumline may perform with our students.
🏈 Attendees will enjoy a variety of Eagles-themed activities, decorations, and giveaways throughout King Field, including autograph sessions with legends, rally towels for all guests, player cutouts, and the iconic “Birds” letters placed around the bleachers.
🥁 It will be a fun but busy night for our community as it is also WSSD Band Night, where our SHMS Middle School Musicians will join our Panther Marching Band pre-game.
🚘 Parking will be tight; we are looking at alternate parking arrangements and will send more information closer to the event.

SHMS students are invited to our 5th Annual Bowling Night on October 18th from 5 to 7 pm atSproul Lanes located at 745 S Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA. This is a fun event for students to get together while supporting a great cause. All proceeds will go to the 8th Grade Service Project and PBIS. We will also have raffle baskets available to win. Students may purchase raffle tickets that evening. Winners will be announced at the end of the event. The last day to buy tickets is Friday, October 10, at midnight. Reminder from Dr. Matsanka….

Dear 6th Grade Families:

I hope to see you at tonight’s 6th grade Back-to-School Night. The SHMS Home & School will be selling spirit wear in front of the library. There are a couple of high school sporting events taking place tonight, so please use the Copples Lane lot, the Providence Road lot, and the parking lot behind the Spencer House, where Forwood and Christy Orthodontics is located. You may enter on either side of the building. Student guides and staff will be available in the hallways to assist you in navigating SHMS. You need to know your child’s Advisory teacher and room number. You will report to Advisory at 7:00 p.m. where you will receive your child’s schedule. Students should not attend tonight. This is for parents/guardians only. Thanks for all of your support. We look forward to a great night.

Don’t forget, picture day is tomorrow. Students will be called down by grade, starting with 8th grade during first period, 6th grade during second period, and 7th grade during third period. Students should have received picture forms in their Advisory class. Extra forms are available in the main office.

6️⃣ 6th Grade Back-to-School Night is Monday, Sept. 15th at 7:00 p.m.!

We’re looking for some awesome 7️⃣ & 8️⃣ grade parents to help us sell spirit wear that night and show off that Panther Pride! 🐾💙

Then on Wednesday, Sept. 17th, it’s the 7th & 8th Grade Back-to-School Night — and we’d LOVE some 6️⃣ grade parents to jump in and help with spirit wear sales then.
