Michele Urban is a singer, songwriter and Kindie-Rock (family) performer, who entertains, educates, and celebrates kids, one song at a time! Michele’s music explores themes of kindness, friendship, inclusion and acceptance. Michele’s improvisational music style creates fun, inspiring moments where kids discover just how special they are! She engages her audience in singing along, dancing, playing rhythm instruments and community bonding. Parents, teachers and children immediately respond to her whimsical lyrics and creative original tunes. Her unique style of children’s music inspires delightful participation and movement from both adults and children, with high-energy tunes spanning genres from traditional folk, rock ‘n roll, to jazz. Michele Urban has been an early childhood music and movement educator for 19 years. she actively performs throughout Connecticut for schools, libraries, local fairs, as well as private children’s events. her programs offer a variety of exciting themes, from adventures with dinosaurs and fairy tales to backyard friends and under sea fun! her charming and silly songs will take your imagination anywhere – even to outer-space! michele’s programs bring families together to support literacy, teach life skills and inspire creativity.

Now THIS is what playing together looks like!

A huge thank you to Dianne and The Coalition for a Better Wallingford for inviting me to sing and play with the families at Community Family Day in Wallingford!

Parachutes, bubbles, music, movement—and grown-ups getting right in there and playing alongside their kids. ❤️

When grown-ups join the fun, they’re doing so much more than keeping their children entertained. They’re connecting. They’re modeling. They’re helping children build confidence, social and emotional skills, and a sense of belonging—all while making s wonderful memories together.

Play is how children learn, and it’s even more powerful when we all play together.

A sweet mom gave me permission to share this email she sent me today.

Messages like this remind me why I do what I do. Knowing that families choose to spend time together singing, dancing, laughing, and making memories that celebrate kids with me, means more than I can say.

If you’ve been thinking about coming to a concert, here are the final interactive family performances I have for the summer:

🌴 Saturday, August 8 – Tropical Paradise Community Day at Zion Lutheran Church, Wallingford (Outdoor Concert) • 11:00 AM (I'm especially excited for this one-it's in my hometown!）

🎶 Saturday, August 29 - Brookfield Parks & Rec, Williams Park (Outdoor Concert) • 10:30 AM

I’d love to see you before summer comes to a close. Bring the kids, the grandkids, or just come ready to smile, sing, dance, and play together.

Grateful, really. 💙
The families had so much fun — and a whopping 118 people showed up to sing, dance, and groove with Pete the Cat at the Groton Public Library. Pretty wild, honestly.
Huge thank you to Susan Muro at CT Humanities for making this possible, and to Stacy Clark, the children’s librarian, for such warm hospitality.
And of course, thanks to Al deCant for letting us borrow that amazing Pete the Cat costume — that big blue legend. 😹🎶
