Baran's Kenpo Karate opened up in 1994 and has helped teach the benefits of the Martial Arts to thousands of students and families in the Meriden and Wallingford area. Our Kids program focuses on developing a strong mind and body in children and our Adults program is geared towards getting students in the best shape of their lives while learning valuable self defense skills. We’re incredibly proud of Mr. Tyler, one of our awesome instructors, for being recognized by the animal clinic where he works as a Technician Assistant, all while continuing his studies at the University of Connecticut! 👏🐾

This is what we mean when we say martial arts isn't just an after school activity. The discipline, confidence, compassion, leadership and work ethic our students develop don’t stay inside the school. They follow them into the classroom, the workplace and their communities. They shape how our students approach challenges, care for others and even carry themselves.

We help prepare our students for real-life success and Mr. Tyler is an incredible example of that. Congratulations, sir! Your entire karate family is proud of you and can't wait to see what you accomplish next! 🥋

Sparring. 👊🏻

It's a chance to test techniques against a moving opponent, build reflexes, and learn under pressure. It's the one thing that bridges the gap between static drills and real combat.
