After Pumpkin Potter's update, we thought we should take a peek at Pumpkin Jack too. I opened the jar (outside) and pokeed him with a branch. The shell completely collapsed revealing beautiful pumpkin seeds. A little soil and water covered PJ up, and then I sealed the jar. Now we wait. I wonder if PJ will sprout?

Pumpkin Potter has decomposed so much that the seeds are completely exposed to the elements. To avoid any birds or critters haviing a snack, we covered Pumpkin Potter with sme soil. Who thinks we will notice some sprouts in the upcoming weeks?

Pumpkin Jack is 102 days old today! He is not quite fully decomposed, yet. We will cover him with soil and see if he sprouts in a couple of months. Until then he must remain behind his screen. We sure hope we will see the life cycle of the pumpkin plant continue. Ask your student if they have dared to peek inside. What did they notice or observe?
