For anyone who is interested we started Freestyle/Greco practices last night and there is still time to sign up! Follow the link below. Our next practice is Thursday 6:00-7:30pm. We recommend 2 years of wrestling experience but no Freestyle/Greco experience required. Highly suggested for 5th graders and above!

Below is an email from Coach Kort regarding this weekends regional tournament

Hello Blast Wrestling Families,

There will be more information to follow but as of now Walled Lake Schools/Community Ed has suspended all programs and practices for the foreseeable future.

For those planning to wrestle at Regionals this weekend, it is understood as of now that it is considered a personal choice. MYWAY has not canceled Regionals/States yet and I will forward out an email from the Metro Director. However, WE WILL NOT BE HOSTING A THE WEIGH IN FRIDAY. Those planning to wrestle will need to go to another weigh in site. If you did not sign up on the sheet on Tuesday, please email me to let me know so I can still get them registered.

If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them.

The following is an email from the head of the Metro Region regarding upcoming events.

Please check this page and your emails regularly to get updates regarding scheduling changes and cancellations


Please share the following information with your club members regarding coronavirus.

1. Please do not call, text or email me directly. I simply do not have the capacity to respond individually. I'm not going to even try to respond. All information will be disseminated through the club admins.

2. It is highly unlikely that MYWAY will voluntarily cancel the regional or state finals. They will only be cancelled if they are forced to do so.

3. I was in contact with the administration at Lakeview today and as of that call, no decisions have been made regarding our event or any other events. If that changes, I will let all of you know as quickly as possible.

4. I would ask you to follow all directives coming from the various health agencies regarding preventative steps. If you're sick, please stay home.

5. Although some organizations are going with a no spectator model, because of the age of our participants, that's not going to work. I would, however, strongly encourage you to limit to the greatest extent possible the number of extra people at the Regional. Grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins should stay home. Children not wrestling should also stay home. Having only one parent attend would also be a good idea. I'd also recommend no food tables in the cafeteria. Every little bit helps.

6. At this point, there's likely no opportunity for me to get any meaningful amount of hand sanitizer, so please bring your own if you can. Also as there's a chance they run out of soap in the bathroom, bringing your own or some wipes is probably a good idea.

7. I'm also going to suspend the pre-match, post match and coach/wrestler handshakes.

If anything changes, you'll all be notified as quickly as I can.
