Where are the David's?
Where are the young men who are not afraid to take a stand for Christ, who are not afraid to go toe to toe with the Goliaths of this world, who would belittle the Word of God and His followers?
Where are the David's who realize that, it's not by might and not by power but by the Spirit of a Living God; who fully understands that "The weapons of out warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds?"
1 Samuel 17:45; "Then said David to the Philistine, 'Thou comest against me with a sword and with a spear and with a shield; but I come to thee in the Name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.'"
David knew where his strength lied and because he knew, he was fearless!
Psalms 118:4-8; 4 "Let them now that fear the Lord say, that His mercy endureth for ever.
5 I called upon the Lord in distress; the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.
6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear; what can man do unto me?
7 The Lord taketh my part with them that help me; therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
8 It is better to put trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man."
David leaned on the Lord and His (The Lord's) strength knowing that nothing man could attack him with was capable of doing him harm; whether in word or in deed!
Psalms 144:1 "Blessed be the Lord my Rock and my Great Strength, Who trains my hands for war And my fingers for battle."
Psalms 121 "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made the heaven and the earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keeps thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, He that keeps Israel shall neither slumber no sleep.
5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is the strength of thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."
Luke 12:32 "Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
Be confident in the strength and the power of the Lord of Hosts, for He goes before you into battle and has already won the victory! He has already equipped you (David) with all the weaponry you will ever need to go against any Goliath that may enter your path; it's all found in the Word of God!
And here is the confidence that the original David had, a confidence so strong that he laid aside the weapons and armor of man and went up against a foe that had all of the armies of Israel quaking in their boots. With only five stones, and with a confidence that he learned by trusting in the God he served!
1 Samuel 17:34-36 "But David said to Saul, 'Your servant was tending his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and took a sheep from the flock,
35 I went out after it and attacked it , and rescued the sheep from it's mouth; and when it rose up against me, I grabbed it by it's mane and struck it and killed it.
36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them' since he has defied the armies of the Living God."
Where is David? Say with confidence and without fear, "Here I am!"
2 Corinthians 10:3-7 "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war in the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your disobedience is fulfilled.
7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
Goliath, you are going down!
