It’s been a long time since I shared any stories of teachers and my gratitude towards all they do. Today I am posting the quietness these photos tell. Soon....very soon we can all resume! Teaching is all I know...Zoom is not the same at all! I have lost that human connection my classroom brings.

This is Monday and I want to give a shout out to an incredible teacher! She is innovative, creative and strives to put her students first. Things at school can be stressful and every teacher has those days....but this teacher gets right back in there and can’t wait for Mondays! She is my inspiration! Congratulations, Whitney Wurst, 1st grade teacher at Sargent Public School in Nebraska!

I haven’t posted in a few days...praying for my daughter’s flooded basement in central Nebraska and my son, Colorado electric lineman, that was stranded in service truck for several hours in NE Colorado blizzard! More blizzard conditions and lots of snow in panhandle of Nebraska, roads & bridges taken out due to flash flooding in NE and Central Nebraska! I drove home from school this past Wednesday and hit the blizzard wall! I pray for all teachers, staff, and administration that have to deal with towns under water, health & wellness of their families & students that are fighting for their property and livestock! It’s very distressing to see photos! Stay Strong Nebraska!
Ironically....one of my students gave me this note this a.m!! So proud of her thinking! It made my day! I took a picture of it! She smiled a lot today!!

Apple Wishes is my dream come true….
it is my pay-it-forward project that tells a teacher “you are worth it! What you are doing is making a difference.”

I am somebody….
I was somebody when I came in…
And I will be a better teacher when my students leave…
I am powerful and I am strong.
There isn’t anyone that can prevent me from making that difference in the way that I see works for them.
My students matter and I am the one that will make sure they are noticed!”
