OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME — COOPER MILLER

Cooper Miller was absolutely dialed in at quarterback.

20-of-29 passing for 373 yards and 6 touchdowns, then added 87 yards and 3 more scores on the ground.

That’s 460 total yards and 9 total touchdowns on the night.

Cooper made plays with his arm, made plays with his legs, and kept the offense rolling from start to finish. Just a complete performance from QB1.

And yes, the nine fingers in the picture are there for a reason.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME — EVAN STRANGE

Cornerback is one of those positions where sometimes the best compliment you can get is they just stop throwing your way.

Evan Strange was LOCKED IN.

Great coverage, great positioning, and just an all-around outstanding night on the back end of the Miners defense. Evan competed on every snap and made sure nothing came easy in his direction.

No shortcuts. No easy catches. Just a dude doing his job at a ridiculously high level.

That’s a heck of a night at corner.

GAME DAY AT SATHER FIELD.

Wallace. Genesee. 7:00 PM.

If you watched these two teams last year, you already know what kind of night this can turn into.

Both matchups were absolute barn burners, and the playoff game needed overtime before the Miners finally walked away with a two-point victory.

Now we get to run it back.

New year. New teams. Same opportunity to line up, compete, and see who can make the plays when it matters most.

We are fired up to get back under the lights at Sather Field, play in front of Miner Nation, and compete against a very good Genesee team.

This is the kind of Friday night you circle on the calendar.

Jr High Cheer practice will start on September second after school on the stage. They will need their paperwork in.

Junior High Athletics Update:

Tuesday, September 1, will be an open gym/open field day.

Volleyball open gym will be held from 3:30–5:00 p.m. at Silver Hills Elementary, with a brief parent meeting immediately following.

Football open field will be held at Sather Field.

Volleyball players do not need to bring practice clothes or their red books on the first day of school.

Official practices will begin Wednesday. All student-athletes must have the required paperwork completed in order to participate in practice.
