AMU K9 Team AMU K9 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing K9 medical education, peer support & community outreach.

We are empowering handlers, first responders, caregivers & communities while strengthening both ends of the leash. At Advanced Medevac Unit K9 Training (AMU K9 Training), we are a team of medical providers dedicated to safeguarding the health and well-being of operational K9s through exceptional medical training. Specializing in both advanced and basic level operational K9 medical care, we empower handlers, first responders, and caregivers with the critical skills needed to deliver high-quality care in the field. Our mission is rooted in ensuring that operational K9s not only perform at their best but also thrive in demanding environments. We blend cutting-edge medical practices with hands-on, practical training to prepare participants for real-world challenges. From life-saving emergency techniques to preventative care strategies, our programs are designed to enhance the health, safety, and longevity of every K9 partner. At AMU K9 Training, we are united by our passion for excellence, innovation, and compassion. Together, we’re shaping a future where every operational K9 receives the elite care they deserve.

SOMETHING BIG IS BREWING AT AMU K9.
We’ve trained together. We’ve traveled together. We’ve pushed the limits of K9 medicine together.
Now… we’re having coffee together.
Introducing the AMU K9 Coffee Collection, created in partnership with Yellow Dog Coffee Roasters.
This isn’t just another bag of coffee with our logo on it. We wanted coffee that felt like AMU K9 — bold, memorable, full of personality, and built around the dogs who have become part of our story.
And we think we nailed it.
MEET THE FIRST THREE ROASTS:
JAGER’S BOLD ROAST
Big Dog. Bold Coffee. No Apologies.
Named for Jager, 180 pounds of love and devotion, who makes the world a better place.
Strong. Bold. Unapologetic.
Pretty much Jager in a coffee bag.

KOKO’S MEDIUM ROAST
Sweet. Smooth. Unstoppable.
Just like Koko.
Balanced, smooth, and ready for whatever the day throws at you. The kind of coffee that gets the job done without having to make a big scene about it.

MR. PICKLES MILD ROAST
Mild Roast. Major Attitude. Maximum Pickles.
You knew there was absolutely no chance we were launching coffee without Mr. Pickles getting his own bag.
A smooth, easy-drinking roast paired with approximately 20 pounds of confidence, questionable decision-making, and completely unnecessary levels of attitude.
Maximum Pickles. Every time.

PRE-SALES ARE NOW OPEN.
Be among the first to get your hands on the inaugural AMU K9 Coffee Collection.
Each roast is produced for AMU K9 by Yellow Dog Coffee Roasters and packaged exclusively for the AMU K9 community.
Whether you’re starting a shift, heading to training, sitting through an early-morning briefing, hitting the road with your K9, or just trying to become functional before speaking to another human being...
We’ve got your coffee.
Even better?
Every purchase supports AMU K9 and our mission to improve the care of working K9s through education, training, outreach, and support.
So this cup does a little more than wake you up.
It helps us keep moving forward.
TRAIN HARD. DRINK GOOD COFFEE. HELP K9s.

During our September 25, 2026 class, AMU K9 was proud to recognize K9 Handler Alexander Lopez of the Lakewood Police Department as a recipient of the K9 Bolt Scholarship.

The K9 Bolt Scholarship was created with a simple purpose: to help remove financial barriers that can stand between K9 handlers and the medical training they need to care for their partners when every second matters.

Working K9s give everything they have in service to their communities, and the people responsible for them deserve access to the knowledge, training, and resources necessary to protect them in return.

By investing in handlers like Alexander Lopez, we are investing directly in the health, safety, and longevity of the K9s who serve beside them.

This scholarship represents more than a seat in a classroom. It represents preparedness. Responsibility. Commitment. And the belief that those who serve deserve the very best care we can give them.

Their Service. Our Responsibility.

On September 11, 2001, hundreds of search and rescue dogs worked alongside their handlers at Ground Zero, searching through unimaginable destruction with courage, determination, and unwavering loyalty. Their service brought hope in the darkest of moments and left a legacy that should never be forgotten.

AMU K9 honors those incredible K9 heroes and the handlers who stood beside them.
