We had a wonderful time meeting our future 6th graders for an Orientation to Junior High on Monday! They got to hear from our fantastic student ambassadors, tour our campus, and meet their future teachers. We look forward to seeing all of you again at our Kick-Off Day in August! (Date TBA in summer)

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms and mother figures in our Livingston Parish community! Thank you for your love, support, and the difference you make every day.

As Teacher Appreciation Week continued, so did the laughter, appreciation, competition, and fun chaos all across campus! 🐊 Our teachers and staff really embraced the games this week, and it was so much fun watching everyone’s competitive side come to life! From Rock, Paper, Scissors and the Sit-Stand Challenge to BINGO, 2 Truths & 1 Lie, and our very popular “Gator in Your Pocket?” game, there were plenty of opportunities for bragging rights, victories, and lots of laughs. Watching staff members battle for the most Gators, try to uncover each others “lies,” and anxiously waiting for the next BINGO number made the week so memorable!

Of course, no celebration is complete without amazing food, and we were spoiled all week long! 🌟 A huge thank you to Sombreros of Walker for treating our teachers and staff to a delicious and flavorful lunch that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We are so grateful for your generosity! Thank you to John’s Grocery and Hardware for the wonderful breakfast biscuits that gave our staff a warm and hearty start to the day. And a very special thank you to Trevor Rushing for preparing an absolutely incredible pastalaya and white beans and for allowing several of his FFA officers to come serve our teachers. The meal was outstanding!

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to the many businesses whose generous donations helped make this week such a tremendous success! Thank you to He Brews My Cup, Bailey Rae Nutrition Boutique, Wildcat Nutrition, Bomb Designs, Simply Grai, Pretty Baked, By His Grace Wreaths Decor and More, Divinity Delights, Dubrocs Cakes, Big Mikes Sports Bar and Grill, and Hayley Duplechain with Baked by Haley, along with all of our wonderful Gator parents, for your generous donations of gift cards, monetary donations, snacks, and drinks that helped make our Sweet Start Station and prize giveaways possible.

Our teachers and staff had an incredible week and truly felt appreciated, celebrated, and loved. Seeing them laugh together, compete for prizes, and enjoy so many thoughtful surprises was a joy for all of us. We are blessed with the very best educators and support staff, and Westside truly would not be the Bestside without them! 🧡🐊💙🍎✨

Westside Junior High's Awards Program will be held Friday, May 15th. Grade level ceremony times are as follows: 6th Grade at 7:45 AM, 7th grade at 9:00 AM, and 8th grade at 10:15 AM. Students who will be receiving an award at the ceremony received an invitation at school on Friday, May 1st. Please contact our school counselor, Mrs. Simmons with any questions at [email protected]. We’ve had an AMAZING start to Teacher Appreciation Week! 💙 Our hearts are so full seeing how loved and celebrated our teachers and staff have felt these past two days! It truly takes a village, and we are beyond grateful for ours!

✨ Monday: A huge thank you to our incredible parents for the drinks, snacks, and donations that made our “Sweet Start Station” such a hit! And a very special thank you to Dubroc’s Cakes for the beautiful (and delicious!) cake - our staff LOVED it!

✨ Tuesday: An incredibly big thank you to Big Mike’s for an amazing lunch for our teachers and staff! We are all so very grateful for your generosity!

Also, shoutout to Bailey Rae Nutrition for the gift cards… our teachers are loving the games and competitions to win the loaded teas! 🥤 We had such a fun time playing Rock, Paper, Scissors around campus today for some fun prizes!

💙 We still have MANY more amazing people to thank, but we’re keeping a few surprises up our sleeve for the rest of the week!

🧡 We can’t wait for more fun, food, and celebrating our teachers - who truly deserve it all. Seeing the smiles on all of their faces is the absolute best! 🍎✨
