Announcements:

Competition cheer practice has been cancelled today.

Any girl interested in playing basketball needs to come see Coach Broome this week.

Seniors: Tonight is Senior Student & Parent night from 5:30-7:00 in the auditorium. This is a very important meeting to discuss graduation, college, scholarships, financial aid, senior activities, and many other important Senior Year items. Please make sure every student is there or represented by a parent or guardian.



Walmart is having a job fair this Thursday, Sept. 12, from 3 PM to 6 PM. If you are interested in attending, you will need to go online and complete a job application before attending the fair. Please see Mrs. Moxley in the guidance department for more information.



Seniors - the EARLY deadline to submit your senior ad order is Friday, September 13th. After this date the price for an ad increases by $25.00. See Mrs. Lynch if you have any questions.



The girls' tennis team fell to Rabun Gap yesterday 3-4. Winning in singles was Ansley Mattox and Sydney Marquez. Winning in doubles was Ansley Mattox and Kiley Dempsey.





Upcoming dates to remember:


Attention, members of Walhalla High School Chapter of the National Honor Society:Our first organizational meeting will be held on Friday, September 13, at 8:05 a.m. in the Professional Development Room. This meeting is extremely important as we will distribute service hours sheets and discuss preliminary plans and projects for this year. If you are interested in running for an officer's position, be prepared to let Mrs. Lee know that day. Please watch for a Canvas announcement about this meeting, and let Mrs. Lee know by email ASAP if you are NOT receiving NHS notification so she can add you to the course.



Juniors: You have a Junior Student & Parent night on September 17th from 5:30-7:00 very important information will be covered pertaining to Junior Year, testing, and how to prepare for Senior Year. Please plan on being there.



Unified Club members if your attending the Unified Kick Off Event at High Falls permission forms are due back to Ms. Buckallew no later than Tuesday, Sept 17th.

WHS Library Media Center Book Club will be meeting on September 18 at 08:10 in the library. The book we will be discussing is Five Feet Apart. Please be sure to sign up in the library.

FFA will be having an informational meeting for anyone interested. We will meet in the shop on Thursday, September 19 at 8Am. Breakfast will be served.

Ladies, don’t forget to sign up for the Miss Oktoberfest Pageant coming up October 6 at 4pm, at Walhalla Middle. Swing by the guidance office for an application. Application deadline is Friday, September 27

FRESHMAN LISTEN UP! EVERY YEAR 9th graders ARE INVITED TO ENJOY AN ADVENTURE ON THE CHATTOOGA RIVER! Pick up a permission forms from Ms. Gladys, Mr Powell, Mr. Jensen or your freshman Razor teacher. Turn the completed forms in to Ms. Gladys by Friday September 27th. The price is right! Spaces go fast. Plan to enjoy October 2nd outside on the river with your friends!

Students, please do your part in helping keep our campus and athletic facilities beautiful. Before leaving any game - especially football - please take any trash around you and throw it away on your way out. Your help will go a long ways.

Administration was made aware of a message Monday Morning in the ladies restroom stall at Walhalla High that could be perceived as a threat. Law enforcement was informed and a thorough investigation occured. As a result, there was no evidence found to support a credible threat against the school. There was a follow up discussion conducted on Tuesday morning and rumors of the message began being posted on social media. We want to assure parents that safety is our number 1 priority and we will continue to be vigilant in our efforts to have a welcoming yet safe school
