⚠️ Reinhardt’s Update Ahead of the Ice Storm

Reinhardt University is advising residential students to go home ahead of the approaching storm, if they’re able, though housing will remain open.

Students who choose to stay are being cautioned about dangerous travel conditions and the risk of power outages during this event. We want to underscore how serious the expected weather impacts could be.

Whether you are planning to go home or remain on campus, please take a few important steps today:

🚗 If you are leaving campus:
✔️ Let your RA know you are leaving campus
✔️ Set your thermostat to heat at 68°
✔️ Allow water to drip from your faucets
✔️ Check in with your friends who may not be able to go home and see if you can travel together
✔️ Drive safely and take your time

🛏️ If you must stay on campus:
✔️ Residence halls will remain open
✔️ Let your RA know you are staying
✔️ Check your Reinhardt email regularly for official updates
✔️ Keep in mind, dining Services will operate on a normal weekend schedule
✔️ Charge phones, laptops and other essential devices
✔️ No driving your vehicle on campus during and after the winter storm as conditions will be hazardous
✔️ Walk on grassy areas and try to avoid pavement as much as possible
✔️ Remember, University police will still be here on campus during the storm

These small actions help keep our community safe and allow us to best support our Reinhardt students who need to remain on campus.
