CONNECT WITH YOUR PASSION!!! For Kate Nelson, balancing a rigorous middle school schedule with training as a professional waterskier is possible because of the flexibility of KM Connect, KM’s free, virtual, 6-12 public charter school. “Connect allows Kate to be an active student while pursuing her passion,” said her mom, Adriane. As a full-time student, Kate trained for and won the AWSA National Overall title in 3-event waterskiing, which requires mastery of slalom, trick skiing and long-distance ski jumping. Jumping is her favorite, and she is a proud two-time AWSA National Jump Champion. With the ability to attend school virtually and coordinate her school and training schedules, Kate can pursue opportunities that take her around the country and the world while staying connected to her teachers and peers. After training for the IWWF Under 17 World Competition in Argentina, Kate is excited to begin another year at KM Connect. She is currently training in Florida before traveling to Paraguay October 1–12 to represent Team USA at the PanAm Games. KM Connect gives students the flexibility to learn on a schedule that works for them while pursuing their passions, goals and opportunities beyond the classroom.
