Cutest clovers in the patch! ☘️

Little Schoolers had a wee bit of fun today looking for the Leprechaun’s pot of gold. Students even constructed their own Leprechaun Traps!🍀💛

That sneaky little Leprechaun left footprints 👣 all over the school!

For lunch we enjoyed some (naturally) green pancakes with a 🌈 of fruit!

Little Schoolers had a wee bit of fun today making pepper print shamrocks, coloring rainbows 🌈, and looking for the Leprechaun’s pot of gold! 🍀💛

That sneaky little Leprechaun left footprints 👣 all over the school!

For lunch we enjoyed some (naturally) green pancakes with a 🌈 of fruit!

Snow much fun catching snowflakes during outdoor play! ❄️❄️❄️

Students caught snowflakes on mats and their tongues! Our Little Schoolers observed the snowflakes caught on their mats, counted them, and even got to identify 6 points on a snowflake!

One of our favorite ways to help students understand the power of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message is to show them 2 eggs. One egg has a white exterior, the other a brown. Students observe the 2 eggs and discuss the differences. Next, students watch as the eggs are cracked. Now students see that although the exterior of the eggs were completely different, inside they are the same. We discuss how although we may look different on the outside, inside we have the same capacity for love and respect.

We are proud to incorporate the words, efforts and life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in our curriculum each year.

On the most basic level, our students learn that he wanted people to love each other and treat people fairly with respect. After reading “The Crayon Box that Talked” we discussed how we are like a box of crayons. We are all different, but together we make a beautiful picture.

Our annual tradition of starting the school year by reading The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn.

As is written in the foreword, The Kissing Hand is "a story for any child who confronts a difficult situation." First days of school are can come with lots of emotions for both students and parents, and this book is a perfect tool for addressing the new transition. 🦝❤️
