🌿🔍 Learning Continues—even at Recess! 🐉

Look what our curious 4th-grade Mudd Dragons discovered during recess—a cicada exuvia, the empty shell a cicada leaves behind after molting! 🪲✨

Of course, curiosity kicked in! Our students got a quick science lesson from Dr. Justi, our Science Teacher, and learned a little more about the fascinating life cycle of a cicada.

Sometimes the best learning moments happen when we least expect them! 💚📚

What a wonderful first day of school at Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary! ❤️ We were so happy to welcome back our returning students and extend an extra-warm welcome to all of our new students and families.
From stepping off the buses and walking through our doors to settling into their classrooms, we loved seeing our students’ smiling faces and excitement for a brand-new school year! 😊📚

We’re excited to welcome our Dragons back to school on Monday, August 24, 2026!
To help make our first day safe and smooth for everyone, please take a moment to review the Arrival and Dismissal Maps provided. The maps show designated areas and routes for bus riders, car riders, walkers, daycare vans, and parent drop-off/pick-up.
Please follow the marked routes and designated parking, drop-off, and pick-up areas. Your cooperation will help us keep arrival and dismissal safe and organized for all of our students and families.

What an Awesome Meet & Greet, Dr. Mudd Families!

It was wonderful welcoming back our returning Dr. Mudd families and meeting so many new families today! We were so glad to see everyone as we prepare for another exciting school year.

We are excited to announce that our first Dr. Mudd Family Market of the school year will take place on Wednesday, August 19, from 2:30-4:00 PM.

The Family Market will operate on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. We encourage families to arrive early to ensure the best selection of available items.

What a wonderful start to the new school year\! 💙🐉 Our teachers’ first day was filled with motivation, inspiration, collaboration, and excitement as we prepare for another amazing year with our Dragons\.

A special thank you to **Principal Parker** for the thought and effort she put into making our first meeting meaningful and inspiring\. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful **PTO** for providing a delicious breakfast and making our teachers feel so appreciated\! 💜
