Barnhart teachers are committed to being lifelong learners!

Today, Ms. Bush, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Kubischta, and Mrs. Odom attended the Native Knowledge 360° Teach-In at the National Museum of the American Indian. During their visit, they enjoyed a presentation about Pocahontas and participated in a hands-on yarn-weaving activity inspired by Native artist DY Begay.

We love seeing our teachers continue to learn, grow, and find new ways to bring meaningful experiences and learning opportunities to our Blue Jays! 💙📚

“Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) celebrates Attendance Awareness Month in September. The month is dedicated to making students and families aware of the importance of coming to school regularly. But today, we’re celebrating the Blue Jays who answered the call to learning! 💙🐦

Even in pajamas. 💤
Even on an early dismissal day. ⏰
Even when the weekend is right around the corner. 🎉

Our Blue Jays showed up because learning still happens—even on days that look a little different! 📚✨

Thank you to all of our families for making school attendance a priority and getting our Blue Jays to school ready to learn, grow, and make the most of every minute.

September 15 was IT Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the amazing IT professionals who support our Blue Jays at Barnhart Elementary!

Our IT staff work behind the scenes every day to keep our technology, equipment, and systems running smoothly so our students and staff can learn, grow, and succeed. From troubleshooting technology to helping us find solutions when things don’t go as planned, their support makes a difference in our school each and every day!

We are so thankful to have IT professionals who are always ready to help our Blue Jays! 💙🐦

September is School Attendance Awareness Month. Regular and on-time attendance is an important part of student success. Every school day provides opportunities for students to learn, build relationships, and develop routines that support their academic and social growth. We appreciate your efforts to have your children at school, on time, and ready to learn each day. If your family is experiencing circumstances that are making regular attendance difficult, please reach out to us so we can help connect you with available supports.
