💻✨ NEW SCHOOL YEAR. NEW COMPUTERS. NEW POSSIBILITIES! ✨💻

Our middle school students started the school year off strong by taking their STAR Math and Reading assessments on our brand-new computers!

We are incredibly grateful to Andrews Federal Credit Union for their generous monetary donation that made this technology upgrade possible. Because of their incredible support, St. Peter’s School was able to purchase 30 brand-new computers and 2 Smartboards!

This generous gift is an investment in our students and their education, giving them access to the technology they need to learn, grow, and succeed.

Welcome Back, St. Peter’s Students and Happy 70th Birthday!

What a joyful way to begin a very special school year! Today, we welcomed back our returning students and warmly welcomed our new students and families to the St. Peter’s School family!

This year is extra special as we celebrate 70 years of St. Peter’s School! For seven decades, St. Peter’s has been a place where children have learned, grown in faith, built friendships, and discovered their God-given gifts. We are so blessed to celebrate this incredible milestone together!

As we begin a new school year, we pray that God continues to bless our students, teachers, staff, families, and our entire St. Peter’s community. May He guide us, protect us, and fill our school with His love, joy, and grace.

What a beautiful way to begin the first day of school! As our students arrived this morning, a cross-shaped cloud appeared over our drop off line.

We can’t help but see it as a gentle reminder of God’s presence and blessing over our school community. As we begin a new school year, we pray that the Lord watches over our students, teachers, staff, and families, guiding us with faith, love, and grace throughout the year. Today, our St. Peter’s School faculty and staff joined together with educators and staff from across the Archdiocese of Washington for the annual Back-to-School Mass at the beautiful Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

What a wonderful way to begin a new school year gathered together in faith, community, and prayer.

We prayed for our students, teachers, administrators, and families, asking God to bless our school communities with a year filled with faith, growth, joy, wisdom, and success.

May God guide our teachers as they inspire and nurture our students, and may He watch over each child throughout the year.

Jesus says to Simon Peter, “You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church.” He entrusted Peter with the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven and gave him the responsibility to shepherd His people.

Peter was not perfect, but Jesus chose him—and through him, the Church would grow and endure. What a powerful reminder that God works through ordinary people who are willing to say yes to Him.
As we celebrate this Gospel today, may we remember the words of Christ, the strength of our Catholic faith, and the unbroken foundation of the Church built upon the rock of St. Peter.

Today, we welcomed back our amazing teachers and teacher’s aide from their summer break! We are so excited to have them back in the building and can’t wait to see all the great things they will accomplish this school year.

A special thank you to our incredible HSA for organizing a delicious breakfast to welcome our teachers back this morning! Your thoughtfulness and generosity helped make their first day back extra special.
