I’m Ronda, a certified teacher in Wake Forest with over 24 years of experience in education—15 years in kindergarten and 9 years in special education. At Back 2 Basics, I offer personalized, small-group homeschool instruction and one-on-one tutoring in reading, writing, and math for elementary-aged children. My teaching approach is tailored

to your child’s unique learning style, with a strong focus on foundational literacy and numeracy skills. I’m specially trained in the Orton-Gillingham method—a structured, research-based approach that’s proven effective for students with dyslexia and other reading challenges. As both an experienced educator and a parent of a child with dyslexia, I know firsthand how important it is to have the right support. That’s why I’m passionate about helping children build confidence, strengthen core academic skills, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Whether your child needs homeschool support, dyslexia tutoring, or early intervention in reading and math, I’m here to help.

Hi there! I’m Ronda (or as my students call me, Ms. Ronda), and I’m so excited to introduce you to Back 2 Basics Schoolhouse!

After 24 years in education, including 15 years in kindergarten and 9 years in special education, I’ve seen how much kids thrive when learning feels personal, playful, and pressure-free.

That’s why I created Back 2 Basics Schoolhouse, a calm, creative learning space here in Wake Forest for K–5 students who need something different from traditional classrooms.

This year, I’m offering:

- A Small Group Homeschool Support Class starting August 25th with only 6 spots available

- One-on-One Tutoring in reading, writing, and math customized to your child’s unique learning style
