🏀JOSH POWELL at Heritage Middle School today! 🏀 Former NCSU basketball player and two- time NBA champion with the Lakers came to speak to some of our students today! Mr. Powell shared his 3 pillars of impact; mind (sharpen your mind and elevate your purpose), wealth and community (create a lasting impact) and the importance of affirmations. After sharing his message, he signed autographs, answered questions, and took pictures. Thank you, !!! (Thank you to one of our parents for helping make this happen for our students)

Student Leadership in Action! 🎬

We are so proud of our TSA Club officers for taking the lead and running this year’s interest meeting! 👏

What makes it even more impressive? They created all of the information and materials for the meeting on their own. They planned, prepared, and stepped up to share their vision for TSA with their peers, real student leadership in action! 🖥

A huge shoutout to Mr. Walker for supporting, encouraging, and empowering our students to take ownership of their club and their leadership. 🙌

This is what we love to see at Heritage—students leading, creating, and making their voices heard! We can’t wait to see what this team accomplishes this year! 🚀

Celebrating Mrs. Peasley! 💙❤️🤍

We are SO excited to celebrate our very own Mrs. Peasley, who was selected as a WCPSS Employee Excellence Award recipient! 🎉

Mrs. Peasley was nominated by our 7th grade teacher, Ms. Lawrence, for the genuine care and support she gives to both students and staff. She is compassionate, patient, always willing to help, and is such an incredible supporter of our 7th grade teachers and students (although, of course, anyone who knows her would say she is everyone’s biggest supporter! ❤️).

It was extra special to have her husband and one of her sons join our 7th grade hall, front office, and admin to surprise her and celebrate this well-deserved recognition. 🥰

Mrs. Peasley spends so much of her time celebrating others, cheering people on and making sure they know they are valued. Today, the spotlight was right where it belonged, on HER! ✨

Congratulations, Mrs. Peasley! We are so lucky to have you as part of the Heritage family, and we could not think of anyone more deserving! 🏆❤️💙

⚾️🇺🇸 A night to remember! 🇺🇸⚾️

Our Heritage band had the incredible opportunity to perform the National Anthem at the ballpark, and they did an AMAZING job! 🎶👏 We couldn’t be more proud of the way our students represented Heritage!! They were confident, respectful, and absolutely knocked it out of the park! ⚾️

Thank you, Mr. Stauffer, for creating this amazing experience for our students. We received so many compliments about our kids, and they truly represented the HMS Way!

Way to go, Patriots! 🇺🇸⚾️🎶

🏈🏐🏃‍♀️ The journey to becoming an HMS athlete starts here!

What a fantastic turnout at tonight's Athletics Interest Meeting! It was great to see so many students and families eager to learn about Heritage Middle School athletics and what it takes to be part of our athletic program.

Thank you to our Athletic Director, Mr. Miles, for sharing important information and helping future student-athletes prepare for the upcoming tryout season.

There is nothing like the first day of school!! It's exciting and a new year allows each student and staff the opportunity to start fresh. New goals, new friendships, new attitude, etc! Change can be challenging, but the outcome on the other side can be so beautiful! And we witnessed that today with tracks 1 and 3! Students came in; they were seen, they were valued, and they showed us they are here to represent the HMS Way!!! WELCOME TO HERITAGE!!! (And huge shout out for a successful 20 minute PM carpool on the VERY first day of school!!! Woohoo!!! Thank you, Heritage Middle School PTA for the signs!)🥳

Our PTA and the front office team helped this year's theme come ALIVE!!! "Signing" table, locker room to get their tshirts, film review to study last year's stats, admin=refs, and a "Heritage Playbook" that will help us know our play, trust our team, and execute with excellence!!! We ended with a VERY successful year (yesterday🤣🤣🤣) and that has us pumped for what 2026-27 will bring!!!

Families...our staff is getting ready for your child!!! Can't wait to see tracks 1 and 3 on Tuesday, July 7 for their first day of school. Students will get their schedules and many staff and students will be there to assist! Can't wait!!! WE... ARE... HERITAGE!!!! 👊
