Delegating is a skill — and growth means learning new ways to lead. Here's are some of the big reasons you may still be feeling some of the stress in your growing business:
🧠 You're still carrying the mental load.
You may have handed off tasks, but your brain is still juggling strategy, decision-making, and all the "what-ifs”. This can be emotionally draining and lead to the same overwhelm that prompted you to delegate in the first place.
👋 You haven't truly let go of the responsibility.
Delegating isn't just assigning tasks — it's trusting someone else to complete them without mistakes and own the outcome. That takes time, and sometimes a major mindset shift.
🔍️ Your processes aren't clear.
If you passed off a task or responsibility to a team member or virtual assistant and they’re constantly circling back with questions, it likely hasn’t been made clear what “done right” looks like. This causes tasks to boomerang right back onto your plate, and that can be draining!

When I hop on discovery calls with new clients, I hear the same thing over and over again...
"I know I need help… I just don’t know where to start."
So let’s take out some of the guesswork!
Here are 8 simple tips to delegate more effectively in your biz, so you can reclaim your time and sanity:
1. Shift Your Mindset
Let go of the idea that only you can do it right. Delegation is not giving up control—it’s gaining more time and capacity to grow your business. 💥
2. Identify What to Hand Off
Look for tasks that are repetitive, time-consuming, or not in your zone of genius (admin, email, design, tech, etc).
3. Match Tasks to the Right People
Think strengths over convenience. Hire a VA (or even specialists) for the right jobs.
4. Communicate Clearly
Set expectations from the start. Use checklists, how-to docs and SOPs, or even quick Loom videos to make your needs crystal clear.
5. Start Small
Test the waters with low-risk tasks. As trust builds, so can the responsibilities.
6. Set Checkpoints
Use tools like Trello, Slack, or ClickUp to track tasks, deadlines, and progress. Stay in the loop without micromanaging.
7. Keep the Door Open
Encourage questions and give feedback. Delegation is a two-way street. 🛣️
