🏆🐐 SEPTEMBER GOAT AWARD🐐🏆

We are thrilled to celebrate Ms. Mahaffey as our next GOAT Award recipient of the school year!

Thank you Ms. Mahaffey for stepping up in a big way when one of your team’s teachers left. You’ve been absolutely killing it both on the driveline and in the classroom. 🎨🎭🎶 Celebrating Arts in Education Week! 📸💃

September 13–19, 2026, is National and North Carolina Arts in Education Week!

In 2010, Congress designated the second week of September as National Arts in Education Week—a time for communities across the country to advocate, educate, and celebrate the incredible impact and transformative power of the arts in education. This year, Governor Josh Stein has also proclaimed this week as Arts in Education Week in North Carolina!

At Wake Prep Academy, we are proud to provide students with opportunities to explore their creativity and discover their passions through elective coursework in Dance, Music, Choir, Visual Arts, Photography, and Theatre.

See what some of artists have to say:

"There is something so surreal about being able to create art. It makes me feel alive."
Maddie

"I really love the band community. It is a great feeling to be able to connect and find a social harmony."
Evie

"Dance is the art for the body. It teaches you how to flow through the movement and gives you flexibility."
McKenzie

The arts inspire creativity, build confidence, encourage collaboration, and give students opportunities to express themselves in meaningful ways. We are proud to celebrate the incredible role the arts play in the lives of our students and communities across North Carolina! Let’s celebrate the arts—and the students who bring them to life!

09/11/2026

Today is an important day for our country as we pause to remember and honor the sacrifices made by our first responders and members of our military on September 11, 2001.

On our campus we were grateful for the opportunity to honor the heroes of 9/11 through movement and learning. Three of our Physical Education classes were joined by the Wake Forest Army Recruiting Station, who helped lead students through a series of exercises inspired by the incredible physical efforts of first responders that day. From running to help save lives to climbing countless stairs to reach those in need.

Our Choir students were also hard at work on the field preparing for their performance at tonight’s game against ALA Johnston.

Tonight, during halftime, we will come together as a Wake Prep community to honor all of our first responders and members of our military. Come out tonight to cheer on our Guardians, support our students, and join us as we take a moment to honor the many heroes who serve and protect our communities and our country.

Go Guardians! 🇺🇸🦁
