Snowman Soup for my class kiddos - minus the stirring stick.🤷🏻♀️ Like, who ate all the candy canes in our town? It’s like the new toilet paper…there are none.☃️🤨
(Yes, we’re still in school.😐)

My students are learning to build up their reading stamina after having been at home for nearly 15 months during the pandem*c. They are stuck choosing the same genre of books every time we visit the media center. So, to get them to branch out, I created this fall challenge bookmark with a few new ideas for them!👻
I’m hoping it will be the ticket to getting them to try some new titles! I copied mine onto cardstock and will have my kids color in a ghost each time they complete (or try) a new book. Maybe I’ll have them turn them in for a drawing…🤔 Lunch with the teacher in the classroom might be motivating!😁
⭐️You can get a *free* copy of the bookmark from the link in my bio. Please share and tag if you use it with your students. I’d love to see!📚👻

👉🏼Anyone else in the throes of teaching 3-digit addition and subtraction? 😵💫 This is tough stuff, man.
I decided this week that we needed a diversion from the same ‘ol practice and that pumpkins make everything better. 🎃 Thus, this activity was born. It’s nothing spectacular, but each student has their own baggie of pumpkin cards, and they’ve been practicing up a storm! ⛈ You can use the practice sheet shown here, or just have your kiddos work out their problems on a white board or scrap piece of paper.
*Click the linktr.ee in my bio, and it’s *free* for you! Please share if you use it with your students, and I’d love for you to tag me.

Teacher / Mom Life! I’m at my daughter’s soccer practice and finding some time to skim these two books I ordered months ago. The one on top was ordered before we all ended up quarantined and thrown into remote learning overnight!👀 This book might have been helpful beforehand, but now I find myself saying “I already know how to do that...”🤣🤷🏻♀️ Still, there’s so many great ideas in this book teachers will love. Raise your hand if you learned a bazillion tech tips and tricks the last 6 months?! 🙋🏻♀️ Kudos to the authors for being 10 steps ahead of the times.👏🏼

I’m thrilled with these new books I picked up from a couple of weeks ago. This past month, I decided to take inventory of my class library and see how much diversity was included. I was excited to see that I had way more than I remembered, but I’ve made it my mission to keep adding more diverse texts for my students. I’m most excited about this first title Young, Gifted, and Black! Swipe to see the inside’s beautiful illustrations!😍 Tell me some titles that are must-haves for elementary classrooms. I have a growing wish list! Thank you to , , and for so many wonderful ideas!📚

Anyone else reading a lot this summer??📚 I’m a year-round teacher, so I haven’t made a summer reading list for myself in a few years. Back when I taught on a traditional calendar, I would plan my summer reading list in advance and raid our local library for stacks of books. Thankfully, I also had tons of teacher friends who also loved to read and share with me!🙌🏽 I’m taking full advantage of this time away from school to read as much as possible - and I have a little bit of everything on my list. These 3 are my current pool reads.💦 What are you reading (for fun!) this summer? Please share!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
