While this is one of those IYKYK situations, I really don't like NOT knowing, so if you care to know, I'll tell you all about the Kat Pack! (I sent out an email earlier, but who knows if those ever get delivered these days!) So here's the story of my "gang."
I didn't name it. I didn't start it. I didn't even know I had one until somebody's husband pointed it out. π
Way back when I was first starting to really market the Agent Prep Program and put myself out there, I was met with some online drama and low-key bullying.
Whatever. That's not the interesting part.
The interesting part is that my OG students were having NONE OF IT.
These women were the earliest believers in what I was building, and when things got a little ugly, they stood behind me.
One night, one of those students, Athena, was filling her husband in on the latest nonsense and telling him how everyone had rallied around me.
His response?
"Look out. The KatPack is on it!"
And just like that...I had a gang. π
Then another one of my OG students, Michele, who has since become one of my best friends, decided every respectable gang apparently needs merch.
So she had these stickers made and sent them to the group.
WWKLWD? What Would Kat Logan Wolfe Do? π
I still have mine. And here's what I think about every time I see it:
Back then, I was trying really freaking hard to build a business. I wanted customers, email subscribers, followers, and sales.
But somewhere along the way, I built something much more valuable. I built a KatPack. π«Ά
People who trusted me. Rooted for me. Told other people about me. And apparently made merch when somebody pi**ed them off. π
We spend SO much time worrying about how many followers we have. But you know what? You don't need 47,000 people who barely notice you. You need people who would make the sticker.
The people who remember you. Trust you. Tell their sister she HAS to book with you. The people who stop scrolling when they see your face because they actually give a crap what you have to say.
I didn't set out to build a KatPack. I was trying to build a business, and created a community. π
And to my OG KatPack who are still here after all these years: big giant bear hugs! π₯°π»π«
I teach a lot of things to a lot of people, but the foundation of everything is communication and connection within a community.
Have a great weekend! π
