It's about respecting boundaries! They deserve to have a safe space to make mistakes. Every person you tell their business to doesn’t always have their best interest at heart. Also, they may not know how to discipline in a manner that is not damaging to a child. Their business belongs in the home. If you need someone to vent to get a therapist or a safe person that is not going to air their business out.

That’s the Window of Tolerance at work.
When we’re inside our window, we can think clearly, stay connected, and handle big feelings. When stress pushes us outside of it, we either go into:
🔴 Hyperarousal – meltdowns, anger, anxiety, “fight or flight”
🔵 Hypoarousal – shutting down, zoning out, withdrawing

Here’s the good news: the window isn’t fixed. With safe relationships, co-regulation, and consistent routines, we can help children widen their window over time. 💛
And it starts with us. A regulated adult is a child’s best tool for getting back into their window.

Give up the game of Tug of War and teach children how to handle strong emotions. The emotions might be strong, but our children are stronger.
