Waipahu High School's vision is to provide student-centered educational programs that challenge all

For the past year, we have worked with local artist and designer Jasper Wong with assistance from alumnus Jesse Velasquez on our unified athletic branding. We gathered input from various stakeholders to ensure the imagery respected our traditions and values while moving us into the future.

Our athletic brand identity is rooted in the traditions of the Waipahu community. From the sugar cane fields to the present day, Waipahu is a community defined by grit, determination, and perseverance. These same qualities are embodied by the Black Flagβ€”never give up and never surrender! Paired with our core values of commitment, integrity, and respect, this relentless spirit and bold imagery inspired our fresh look!

The unified brand will be adopted by each sport, and we are excited for the alignment across our individual programs. The athletic store will be updated soon so you will be able to order fresh merchandise within the month! Thank in advance for your support of our athletics and our athletes!

Hail Waipahu!

Congratulations to Zeke Demelo and Aiden De Los Santos, who earned direct entry into the IBEW! Congratulations as well to Desmond Butay, Josiah Castro, Ryiden Guzman, Bryan Querido, Keon Uehara, and Rheyden Valdriz for earning direct interviews. All of these graduates worked diligently to complete the Interim Credentials Program, which included classroom and hands-on training. A special thank you to Robert Aquino, Eric N., and Eric A. from the HETF, who were vital in supporting our students through the process. This is a life-changing opportunity for every student involved, and we wish all of them the best in their new journey! Hail Waipahu! πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’™πŸ’›

While most students are starting their summer break, 7 WHS students are going back to school….in Japan! WHS is visiting our sister school Fukuyama Iyo for the next two weeks. The WHS students will be living with host families and are going to school everyday. They will be putting their Japanese skills to the ultimate test! They just arrived on Sunday, but the WHS students already have lots of friends and are having an incredible experience. Hail Waipahu! πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’™πŸ’›

Hawaii Electricians Training Fund (HETF) Cohort 3 started tonight! Congratulations to our students who were selected for the program.

Tonight's orientation allowed our students and families to learn about the curriculum, as well as the expectations required to earn direct entry or a direct interview with the union. Best of luck on your journeys!

It was an inspiring night listening to the voices of our Hawai'i High School Storytellers! They each challenged the audience to think deeply about our choices and how those choices will impact the future. They offer hope in the face of uncertainty, and we appreciate their honesty and sincerity.

Our very own Nicholas Nishimura shared his story titled, "To My Future Children." It was an introspective look at his own future through the lens of decision-making today. Amazing job!

Let's take inspiration from these stories and do all we can together to make tomorrow a better place for all our children.
