Welcome to Hawaiʻi STEM Labs! 🌺
Mahalo for joining our ʻohana here!
Our Mission: We make STEM hands-on, culturally grounded, and joyful for keiki and families across Oʻahu’s West Side — blending science, technology, engineering, and math with ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi and the traditions passed down through generations.
Our Vision: A future where every keiki sees themselves as a builder, a maker, a problem-solver — rooted in who they are, not despite it. Where learning feels like play, and confidence grows alongside creativity.
Here you’ll find workshop updates, behind-the-scenes moments, kit launches, and stories from our sessions. We’re so glad you’re here — welcome to the lab! 🔧✨

We wrapped up summer sessions this weekend! ☀️
Mahalo nui to this parent for these words! This is the magic of learning in community — and we’re so grateful to be part of this ʻohana’s journey. See you at our next event, keiki and ohana alike!

This past year, HSL grew from an idea into something real. 🌺
250 keiki, makua, and kumu learned alongside us — building robots, Holo Holo Cars, painting with light through Solar Art, wiring their first Light Up Cards. Some of our favorite moments weren’t in the workshops at all — they were watching a keiki’s face light up when something they built actually worked.
We showed up at 7 sites across the pae ʻāina this year, and every single partnership became a friendship first.
And because giving back is core to who we are, we created 5 free resources this year to make STEM more accessible for local ʻohana.
This is just the beginning. Mahalo to everyone who made year one possible. 💛

🎬 We listened carefully to keiki comments during last weekend’s StoryMaker Session! ✨
From storytelling to circuits to solar art — they got hands-on with it all, and the energy was 🔥. This is exactly what STEM should feel like: playful, creative, and rooted in who we are. 💚
ONE more session left this summer and it’s in town! 🌺
📅 July 18th, 9:30 AM–12 PM
📍 The Coop (560 N Nimitz Hwy, Suite 217F, Honolulu)
💵 $75 per session (returning ʻohana: $65)
🍪 Light snacks included
Don’t miss your keiki’s chance to join us before summer winds down — link in bio to register! 🫶🏻
