Our mission is to create greater peace and sustainability in our schools, our community and the world

The programs of the Teran James Young Foundation work in tandem to bring about this world, helping Maui’s youth to thrive and develop into effective and compassionate leaders through NVCnextgen and Hale Pono, aiding our community in peaceful conflict resolution with Maluhia Mediation, and endeavoring to move away from our current punitive justice system toward a more compassionate, integrative one

If you want peace, work for justice.

Peace doesn't start with a feeling. It starts with people having what they need to survive.

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs reminds us: before anyone can reach belonging, safety, or self-actualization, their basic needs — food, shelter, safety — have to be met first.

If we want peace in our world, it's our collective responsibility. Share resources. Open doors. Advocate for people whose needs aren't being met.
Peace isn't a personal practice alone — it's a collective responsibility.

Please join us on International Peace Day to discuss these ideas and create action for peace 9.21.26

Mahalo to everyone who joined us for the People's Energy Conference! 🌱⚡

We are grateful for the thoughtful questions, diverse perspectives, and meaningful conversations shared throughout the evening. Creating a more resilient, affordable, and sustainable energy future for Maui takes community participation, and your voice is an important part of that process.

The conversation doesn't end here. Join us for the next Maui Community Energy Alliance Zoom meeting on June 11 as we continue exploring community-driven energy solutions and working together toward a sustainable future for Maui.
