In preparation to give a final farewell to our senior class of 2026, period 3’s Communications Department designated both of the inside boards towards senior recognition and some fun memories together. We will miss all the fun personalities and laughter in the class 🎓✏️🏫

The NYC trend is still alive in AOHT’s 3rd period. The Communication Department made an informational outside board about the student’s favorite memory of New York City 🏙️.

Happy Earth Day Bears! Period 3’s Human Resources Department celebrated Earth Day with a clay pot painting social! Once the students completed their creative designs on their pot, we began adding soil, and soon…seeds to watch the plants grow! 🌱🪴💧

This past spring break, the majority of Mr. Toda’s AOHT students traveled to New York City to gain firsthand experience in the tourism industry. Throughout the trip, we explored a variety of iconic landmarks, cultural attractions, and hospitality venues, allowing us to better understand how tourism operates in a major global city. By observing customer service, attractions management, and the overall visitor experience, we were able to connect classroom concepts to real-world applications. Based on what we learned and experienced during the trip, we were then assigned to design a detailed scrapbook highlighting the places we visited and reflecting on the knowledge we gained.

Our level 2 AOHT students recently completed their Proper Service Techniques project in class. The 2 student groups were instructed to plan, prepare, and serve a meal using proper service and etiquette techniques.
The Dining & Service Etiquette Common Core Standards Alignments for the Hospitality & Tourism Career Cluster (HT) required students to:
- Demonstrate hospitality and tourism customer service skills that meet customers’ needs.
- Implement standard operating procedures related to food and beverage production and guest service.
- Apply listening, reading, writing and speaking skills to enhance operations and customer service in food and beverage service facilities.

Welcome back, Bears! 🐻 Slime Making Day was a massive hit! 🥳 Our Period 3’s Human Resources Department kicked off our return to school with some sticky action. Our students created a variety of unique slimes, mix-ins, colors, and textures. It was the perfect hands-on way to ease back into the semester 💚

Some of our Junior and Senior members were able to learn industry skills today and tips from guest speaker SERKAN HIZLIOK, Area General Manager of the Maui Seaside Hotel, Paia Inn, and the Hampton Inn & Suites Maui Northshore properties. Students learned valuable knowledge and insight into the industry. And they also came away with multiple valuable prizes and giveaways from Serkan! What a wonderful experience for our students.
