Our blessed our keiki over winter break with a glow-up on our playground. They used funds from last year’s Fun Run to support this project. Our students can now play four-square on 5 different courts representing common languages spoken by our families, hop scotch on kalo leaves, and practice their phonics on their brand new phonics honu— and much more! We can’t wait to see our students out at play! A special mahalo to for taking on this project!! We can’t wait to see what else is in store for our keiki!!

Although E-bikes have not been allowed for students under the age of 15 at Waikoloa School because it is against the law, The Hawaii State Department of Education has implemented new regulations governing the use of electric bicycles (e-bikes) on all Department campuses, effective immediately. Now, no E-bikes will be allowed on any Elementary or Middle School campus. Please see Parent Square for the official memo.

“The safety of our students is always our top priority,” Superintendent Keith Hayashi said. “With the growing popularity of electric bicycles and other motorized vehicles, we have seen both the convenience they provide and the risks they pose. Although e-bikes are legal for children 15 years of age and older, we are taking steps to ensure the safety of our students.”

*THIS SATURDAY* 10/18 from 9am-1pm you are invited to join our Waikōloa School community as we celebrate the diversity that makes us shine. Our students and families will be sharing their culture with performances and information booths. We will be fundraising with games, food sales, and a bounce house and inflatable water slide. Admission is free and tickets for food, games, and activities can be purchased after school this week or at the event! We can’t wait wait to see you there. We ARE Waikōloa.
