Aloha e Ka Ohana Halau,
Please come and support Kaleikaumaka one of your hula sisters at a school fundraiser. Wednesday night, 6-8:30 pm. at Nānākuli Elementary School Cafeteria. The fundraiser is making a block print stamp, $35, and you can print your creation on a shirt, Pā’ū, pants, dress, t-shirts, and on, and on. Besides that there will be performances, baked goods, and other fun activities. Come one come all, bring your family.

We had a great morning of hula practice today. We are performing a few hula dances for my friend from Italy. He got married and came to Hawaii for a honeymoon. Congrats to the groom and bride, Simone Sommaruga and Claudia!!! Hau’oli Lā Hō’ao!

Good Mornting everyone,
Yes, it’s a New Year and we are pushing forward for greater, bigger things! Hula hula today at Depots beach in Nanakuli @ 9 am. Hope to see you all there, bright-eyed and bushy tails. 2019 is right around the corner so don’t forget raise some money for our trip to exchange our culture with others. Three possible places to travel will be Las Vegas, Nevada; San Luis Obispo, California; and/or Riverton, Utah. We can go to all of them or select one or two.
How much do you know about the culture? Well, we will learn and teach it. So, you gotta be at hālau class or you won’t know. And, I’m not just talking about the hula. I’m talking about the arts & crafts of Hawai’i as well.
So, come to hula every time we meet so you won’t be left out in the cold, literally!

On Saturday, Sept. 16, we are going to take part in a bus tour. Here is the email I received: We design the CLE as a series and we want ‘ohana to build pilina with each other and the ‘ike that we are sharing. The bus tour is one component of this series and I know people are excited to be a part of that. Please let me know if they are just coming to the bus tour and the total number of people so we can ensure that we have enough lunch. I want all of us to participate in this bus tour this Saturday to increase our knowledge of our 'åina on the west side. I am counting on all of us to be a part of this tour. I will need the count of those able to attend. please message your count: Name & how many? Kumu, 1 This program is from 8:30 to 1 pm. Lunch included. I will get specifics to you all later.
