Recently in Wahpeton high schools Small Animal Care class Mr. Thiel and his wife/Small Animal Care coach Mrs. Thiel brought 2 of their dogs to class and demonstrated how to properly groom and train Golden Retrievers. It was fun learning experience for all of the kids and many of the tools that they learned can be used in the future. Hope they have fun the rest of the year!

We are so proud to announce the Wahpeton FFA 2026-2027 officer team! Each member has been selected carefully by their amazing achievements, incredible personalities and ability to work hard as a team. We are so excited to see what each of them bring to our chapter and are so proud of how far they’ve come!

Is this heat wreaking havoc on your flower beds?

Are your houseplants in need of friends?

Well we have our plants back from the State Fair! They have been watered, sprayed, and are already dreaming of being in your garden.

We have both outdoor bedding plants and houseplants available. Some of the photos will show succulents, but those are not available.

These plants will be available from:
● 12 PM - 4PM on Tuesday, July 28th
● 9 AM - 2 PM on Wednesday, July 29th.

Stop by the ag building, just north of the high school to pick up your plants. Look for the open garage door!

The best part, they are FREE! These plants are leaving the ag building this week, and we prefer not to need the dumpster.

Recently our chapter officer team went to Pettibone ND for some team bonding, although some couldn’t make it we made sure to include them in what we could. The days included some working but mostly memories that’ll last forever. We’re so incredibly grateful for this amazing experience and are looking forward to a year full of so much more!

Makenna has spent the last week in Washington D.C. learning incredible problem solving skills, witnessing leadership in action, and developing a service plan for our community.

She made incredible friendships, experienced wonderful moments, and grew as a leader through serving.

Washington Leadership Conference, or WLC, is an annual leadership conference held by National FFA Organization for several weeks each summer.

The values of this program are based off the famous Teddy Roosevelt quote," Doing what you can, where you are, with what you have."

Students who attend get to witness leadership from congress, serve through volunteering, and learn how to identify a need in their community and address it using resources offered through National FFA and others.

Makenna would like to thank the Wahpeton FFA Alumni for sponsoring her, Richland 44 FFA for allowing her to join them for travelling, and had this to share regarding her experience.

"It’s definitely the chance of a lifetime. My favorite parts were getting to travel with the Richland 44 FFA Chapter and meeting tons of new people & build relationships."

We are excited to watch Makenna put all she learned into action this year!

Saturday, July 4th: 8am-3:30pm
