You know the summer is almost over when the Annual hanging of the National Blue Ribbon Seal happens. Did you know National Blue Ribbon Schools are very rare, with less than 1% of all schools across the United States receiving the honor by the Department of Education in any given year. We are very proud to have earned the distinction. The NBRS award was discontinued in 2025.

Wahiawa RED Dirt is a thing. Youʻd be amazed at what gets tracked in from recess in the back field. WMS has the most hardworking, diligent and dedicated custodial Team. Shout out to Mr. Hirokane and his crew. All summer they have been deep cleaning most of the rooms on campus... stripping and re-waxing floors, wiping walls and windows.

Apparently the band decided to be a little "Silly" at the end of the concert on Saturday.

The summer band was practicing all day yesterday. We heard the the theme from the Pink Panther but my favorite was the theme from Jurassic Park. Join them at 630 pm in the WMS cafeteria. It is amazing how they start together with squeaks, and honks and a misplaced beat and in no time they play as one and in harmony... Congratulations to Wheeler Band and our Director Mr. Ikehara and Asst. Director Mr. Matsush*ta.

One more week to finish the virtual summer reading program. If you haven't logged your reading its super easy. The Office of Curriculum and Instructional Design, Library Media Services invites students and families to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge, “read ᐧ learn ᐧ play” from June 1 to July 17, 2026.
