School Closure Notification.

All O‘ahu public schools and HIDOE offices to close Friday, April 10 due to severe weather

In alignment with Gov. Josh Green’s directive issued on April 9, 2026, in response to severe weather conditions expected to impact O‘ahu, all O‘ahu public schools and HIDOE offices will be closed on Friday, April 10.

In alignment with Gov. Josh Green’s directive issued on March 12 in response to severe weather conditions impacting the state, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education will implement the closure of all public schools and HIDOE offices on O‘ahu, Kaua‘i and in Maui County on Friday, March 13.

The Department appreciates the Governor’s leadership and the coordination across state agencies to keep communities safe.

All HIDOE schools and offices closed Monday, Feb. 9

Following Gov. Josh Green’s announcement Sunday regarding severe weather conditions impacting the state, and in alignment with his directive, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education will implement the closure of all public schools and HIDOE offices statewide on Monday, Feb. 9, due to current storm conditions.

Good evening Solomon families and community,

Thank you for your amazing flexibility and for your understanding during this time. We know this is not an easy time when our normal conveniences of electricity are unavailable. We will be resilient, together.

At this time, power is still down at Solomon Elementary. We are planning for school to be open and ready to receive students and families in the morning, even if power is still out.

Please note there will be a revised breakfast and lunch menu.

If there is a change in this plan, we will send out the information via Dojo, our website, and other social media.

Reminder: Annual Evacuation Drill scheduled for tomorrow, November 19, 2025. Traffic will be impacted around our campus. Our campus and office will be closed during the drill. Students should arrive on time and in appropriate shoes for walking.

Solomon Elementary School Annual Evacuation Drill

We will be conducting our Annual Evacuation Drill on November 12, 2025. Please be sure to report to school on time, wear covered walking shoes, or plan to come to school after 10:30 AM. The Office will be closed during this drill in order to engage with the training exercise.
