How can we teach gratitude without it being another lesson?

❤️ We model it throughout the day. ❤️

Instead of simply telling children to say “thank you,” let them hear you express genuine gratitude.

👉“I’m so thankful we have sunshine today!”
👉“Thank you for helping me pick up the blocks. That was kind.”
👉“I’m grateful we get to have lunch together.”
👉“Look at this beautiful flower! I’m thankful we get to see it.”

Children often imitate what they consistently hear.

📦 Who knew a box could be such a great learning tool?! 📦

Around here, we believe learning doesn't always need to come from fancy toys or expensive materials. Sometimes the simplest things spark the BIGGEST imaginations! ❤️

A cardboard box can become a:
🏠 House
🚗 Car
🚀 Rocket ship
🛒 Store
🐻 Animal home
📚 Reading nook
🎨 Canvas for creativity

While the kiddos are playing, they’re also learning—building language, practicing problem-solving, developing fine and gross motor skills, working together, using their imaginations, and learning about cause and effect.

And the best part? They’re having FUN while doing it! 🥰

We love finding learning opportunities in the everyday things around us. Sometimes, all you need is a box and a little imagination! 📦✨

There is so much learning happening through play! 💚

Playdoh is one of our favorite hands-on activities because it does so much more than keep little hands busy. As children roll, squeeze, pinch, flatten, twist, and mold the playdoh, they are strengthening the small muscles in their hands and fingers. These muscles are essential for developing fine motor skills needed for writing, cutting with scissors, buttoning clothes, zipping jackets, and so many everyday tasks.

The best part? The children are having so much fun they don't even realize they're building important skills! Learning through play truly is one of the best ways to help little minds and little hands grow. 🖐️✨

The fridge is stocked, the lockers are labeled, and the classroom is ready... now all that's missing are the giggles, smiles, and little feet that will fill it on Monday! ❤️

My heart is so full as I prepare for this new chapter. Every detail has been put in place with so much love, and I can't wait to welcome my amazing kiddos into a space where they can learn, grow, explore, and feel loved.

And if you know me, you know I couldn't let this milestone pass without celebrating with flowers while grocery shopping! 💐 Sometimes it's the little things that remind us to slow down and celebrate God's blessings. 🥰

One of the greatest gifts we can give children is a full toolbox of healthy ways to calm their minds and bodies.

Big emotions are normal, but children need to be taught what to do with them. Every time they practice taking deep breaths, pretending to blow up a balloon, counting to ten, blowing out their candles, taking a drink of water or taking a break, we're adding another tool to their emotional toolbox.

The goal isn't to stop children from having big feelings—it's to help them learn how to work through those feelings in a healthy way. These are life skills they'll carry with them long after they leave my childcare. ❤️

🍊 Learning math at breakfast...

We find so many little ways to add math into our daily routine. We count everything!

This morning at breakfast, we had a small crew of 5 little friends. I pulled 3 oranges out of the bag and asked, "If I have 3 oranges, is that enough?"

Together, we counted how many friends were at the table and then counted the oranges. We quickly discovered that we needed 2 more oranges so everyone could have one.

3 oranges + 2 oranges = 5 oranges.
🍊🍊🍊 + 🍊🍊 = 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊

Every time we repeat a concept, we're helping build and strengthen those connections in the brain. Repetition gives children the confidence to remember what they've learned and apply it in new situations.

Learning doesn't have to be complicated. It happens naturally through simple conversations, everyday routines, and meaningful experiences. These little moments add up to big learning!

❤️ My happy place! ❤️

Grateful is the word that best describes how I feel every time I step into this room. ❤️

For me, it’s more than just a classroom—it’s a place where little minds will grow, imaginations will soar, friendships will bloom, and lifelong memories will be made.

I can't wait to welcome the precious littles and be part of their journey of learning, laughter, and discovery. Such a blessing. 💛📚✨

🌟 Providers don't just teach children their ABCs and 123s—we teach them how to see the world.

Every encouraging word, every smile, every "you can do it," helps build a child's confidence and resilience. When we model gratitude, kindness, patience, and a positive attitude, little eyes are watching and little hearts are learning.

Children learn far more from what we do than what we say.

Let's teach them that mistakes are opportunities to learn, that challenges can be overcome, and that kindness is always a strength. A positive mindset planted in childhood can grow into a lifetime of confidence, compassion, and hope.

The seeds we help plant today become the character they carry tomorrow. 🌱💛

🎨 Tiny hands, BIG imaginations!

There is nothing quite like experiencing painting with toddlers and preschoolers — little fingers gripping brushes, eyes filled with wonder, and the biggest smiles when they show off their colorful creations and talk about what they created!

At this age, painting is so much more than a fun activity. For these young learners, every stroke of the brush is building real skills they'll use for years to come:

Fine motor development — holding a brush and dabbing paint strengthens those tiny hand muscles, laying the groundwork for coloring, drawing, and eventually writing

Color recognition — toddlers and preschoolers are learning their colors every day, and painting makes it hands-on and exciting 🌈

Sensory exploration — feeling the wet paint and squishy textures is incredibly stimulating for young developing brains

Self-expression — even before they have all the words, little ones can show us how they feel through their art

Focus & independence — sitting with a project and seeing it through is a big deal for toddlers, and it builds confidence every single time

At the end of the day when parents show up they are excited to tell them all about their artwork.
