First: We are NOT eliminating all paper programs.

But, in an effort to save some paper, ink, waste, dollars, you will be able to scan a QR code to view your WDC programs at events.

Don’t want to scan? No big deal, but enough will that we will be able to cut down on printing.

Good luck Wolverines!

The best part of school is when the students are here!

We wish all of our learners, faculty, staff, and administration a wonderful and happy 2026-27 School Year.

WDC partnered with Sebeka and Bertha-Hewitt to lease a Turf Tank robot to utilize GPS technology to paint our varsity football field tonight.

Money from our Wolverine Scramble was used for this project. The schools will use the robot for football, baseball, and softball fields. Now that it’s set, it will save hours of manpower. Thank you to Reggie Kiser of Sebeka as well as Aaron Jackson and Kyle Hoemberg of our grounds department.

The field is looking great for our opener on Friday vs LPGE!

Wadena-Deer Creek is working to minimize cash at the gate for events. Admission is $8 for all adults under age 62 and $6 for visiting students for tickets purchased online or by using a card at the gate. Cash will be accepted, but cost is $10 for all adults under 62 and visiting students.

All adults age 62 or over and WDC students, as well as veterans are free and need not do anything online.

A card reader will also be available at the concession stand as well for those who would like to use that. The card reader at the concession stand will have a small service fee.

Please share this link to purchase tickets. Once tickets are purchased, your phone is your ticket.

Why are we doing this?
1.) It saves a lot of time at the end of the night not having to count cash and is more secure not having large amounts of cash at school.
2.) Often WDC has more than one event going on and recounting and depositing cash is time consuming in the morning after events when we could be working with students.
3.) Utilizing online ticketing and pay with a card reader allows us to use less workers at the gate.
4.) It is convenient, as most already use a card to pay at the pump, pay for groceries, etc.
5.) Cash is still an option, there is a cash machine at the school for those who need it (of course you need a card to use it.).

It's Meet Day for our Boys and Girls Cross Country Runners.

The Wolverines will run at the Central Minnesota River Run at the Vintage Golf Course in Staples at 9:25. The meet takes on added significance as it previews the Section Meet which will be run at the same course.

Best of luck to seniors Cooper Damlo and Brielle Kern (featured in our graphic) and all of our Wolverine runners!

Our second media day featured our WDC Girls Tennis Team.

The first sport to start competition, our Wolverines have been busy! WDC started their season by going 2-1 at the Osakis Quad. WDC defeated Melrose 5-2, lost a squeaker to Morris Area/WCA 4-3, and defeated the host Silverstreaks 4-3 on Monday, August 25th. On Tuesday, the Wolverines and Staples/Motley hosted the annual Highway 10 Tournament. Claire Coyle and Emma Weniger both advanced to the finals of the tournament in singles play!

Led by seniors Chloe Philippy, Emma Weniger, and Ariana Dutke, the Wolverines will head to East Grand Forks on Friday, August 28th for a triangular with the Greenwave and the Roseau Rams before heading to the Crookston Tournament on Saturday.

Lindy Thompson takes over the reigns as Head Coach, a position she had shared with Jil Fiemeyer last season. The Wolverines will continue to be busy throughout September. Full schedule is available at www.gobound.com.

It's ALWAYS a GREAT day to be a Wolverine!
