Guardianship is one way to support an adult who can no longer make important decisions on their own. A court may appoint someone to help with areas like medical care, personal safety, or finances. Power of attorney works differently because the person must understand the decision and agree to it. Guardianship is typically only considered when that understanding is no longer there.

💄 Just because. Some things don’t need a reason.

The bright earrings. The second scoop. The handwritten note.

Wear it. Eat it. Write it. Call them.

This is the season for little joys.

Helping someone manage medications? Start with a shared list. Talk through the routine together. Even small changes—like easier-to-open bottles or a refill reminder—can make things feel steadier. Supporting a loved one matters, and so does support for you.

Tag a caregiver you appreciate—or share one thing that’s helped your routine feel steadier.

📦 Moving when you didn’t want to. Not everyone downsizes by choice. Sometimes it’s health. Sometimes it’s cost.

If you’ve had to let go of a home before you were ready, what helped soften the edges of that change?

Let’s hold space for each other’s stories here.

Memorial Day began after the Civil War when communities gathered to place flowers on the graves of fallen soldiers. The tradition grew over the years and became the national day of remembrance we know today. Many people still share stories about relatives or visit local memorials because these conversations help keep their legacies alive.

If you have a story about someone who served, we’d be honored to hear it.

Original Medicare can provide flexibility to see any provider who accepts it. Many people add drug coverage and a Medigap plan to help with extra costs.

Medicare Advantage combines hospital, medical, and often prescription coverage into one private plan. Some also include dental or vision, but you’ll need to use the plan’s network.

Each option works differently. Your daily routine and care preferences can help point you in the right direction. We’ve laid it out to help you get started: https://app.pyllrs.com/local/TX/Waco/seniors/estateAndLegal/medicare-enrollment-checklist

🐾 The pet who stole the show. There’s always one.

The dog who knew when something was wrong.

The cat who acted like she owned the house.

Who’s the animal that left their mark on your heart?

🤲 A Note to Caregivers

You’re tired. We see you.

You’re doing work that isn’t always visible, but never unimportant.

It’s okay to cry in the car. It’s okay to feel proud and resentful on the same day.

Care is love—but it’s also labor. It's okay to ask for support. You deserve it.
