We’re proud to celebrate our Family CARE Project Leader, Dr. Tonya Davis, who was invited to speak at the 41st Annual Texas Association for Behavior Analysis (TxABA) Conference! 🎉
Held April 9–12, 2026 in San Antonio, this annual conference brings together behavior analysts and leaders from across the field to share research, best practices, and innovations in ABA.
Dr. Davis presented in the Professional Track with her session:
“Supervising with Purpose: Building Competent, Feedback-Ready, and Compassionate BCBAs.”

You’re not alone—and your voice can help improve support for families navigating this journey. 💙
Researchers from UT Austin, Baylor University, and the University of Maryland are developing a program designed to better support families during the wait for autism evaluations—and they need your input!
👨👩👧 Who can participate?
• Primary caregivers of children ages 0–5
• Currently waiting for an autism diagnosis or services
💻 What’s involved?
• Intake session with the research team
• Weekly online modules (10 weeks, completed at home)
• Follow-up survey and/or interview
💵 Compensation:
• $25 for intake
• $25 for post-study
• $25 for follow-up

We are recruiting participants for a new study exploring an online caregiver training program designed to support independence in daily living skills for people with autism or other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This program equips caregivers with practical strategies to help build skills that support greater independence in everyday life.
Who can participate:
-Individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (age 2+)
-Caregivers age 18+ willing to participate in virtual training sessions
Participation includes 1–2 virtual visits per week.

📣 Join Our Conversation Study for Adults with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability!
We are currently recruiting individuals 18 years or older with an intellectual or developmental disability who have some difficulty participating in a conversation. Participants will be paired with a peer to work on conversation skills together!
✔ Sessions held at the Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing (Waco, TX)
✔ Flexible scheduling
✔ Anyone with IDD (18+ years) can participate
✔ If no peer is available, one will be recruited
✔ Participation is voluntary and completely FREE

The Texas Parent-Directed Special Education Services (PDSES) program is offering a one-time $1,500 grant to help families support their child’s educational needs.
🗓️ Application window: April 1 – April 30

✔️ Who qualifies?
• Students enrolled in a Texas public school (Pre-K–12)
• Receiving special education services through an IEP
• Have NOT received this grant before
Funds can be used for things like curriculum, technology, tutoring, therapy, and other educational supports.
