Congratulations to Baylor Art student Aleah Burns on being named one of fifty emerging professional artists in Texas!

Artists from all over the state compete to be selected for this prestigious exhibition in Dallas and this year’s exhibition had almost 600 entries.

Open to Texas artists 18 and older, The Craighead Green Gallery’s “New Texas Talent” exhibition was established in 1993 to offer a platform to emerging artists who have not yet achieved gallery representation.

Juror Daisha Board told “Glasstire”, the source for Texas art news, the focus was on selecting artists with a clear point of view. “There’s a lot of urgency and intention right now with a lot of these artists’ works, where they understand the world around them and what’s going on, and they have a lot to say about that,” she said.

Aleah Burn’s painting, "Unstable Connection", 40” x 30” oil on canvas was selected for the exhibition.

“New Texas Talent” is on display at the Craighead Green Gallery, Dallas, June 27-Aug. 22, 2026.

Opening Reception: Saturday, June 27th, 5-8 pm

Congratulations Aleah on this incredible achievement!

Graphic Design Professor of Art Genaro Solis Rivero’s work was recognized in the prestigious UnMuted 100! Solis Rivero had three posters selected out of 375 entries by designers worldwide.

Only 100 works are featured in the dedicated Graphis collection and printed catalog. The UnMuted 100 is a prestigious international collection curated by Graphis that brought together some of the world’s most sophisticated creative voices, such as Arnaud Ghelfi (Atelier Starno), Craig Frazier, Chris Hill, Kit Hinrichs, Michael Pantuso, and Michael Schwab, responding to urgent global challenges through design.

The posters were developed through an intensive, independent collaboration with longtime professional colleagues Jeffrey Davis and William Meek. The selected work reflects both the rigor of professional design practice and the enduring value of dialogue, critique, and shared authorship.

Chosen by an internationally distinguished jury, this recognition underscores the critical role of collaboration as both a mode of inquiry and a defining principle of contemporary design.

Solis Rivero’s main role in the Fabric of a Great Nation poster was as an illustrator and graphic designer, while in the other selected posters, Family Pack and Connect-the-Dots Guns, he served in art direction and concept development.

Congratulations Professor Solis Rivero on receiving this amazing achievement!!
