What a blessing to spend the day with our WCA students at the University of the Cumberlands, followed by an afternoon at Cumberland Falls!

Thank you to Gina Flynn, our English teacher, for coordinating the trip. She is also working with our juniors and seniors on SAT prep, college pathways, and scholarships—helping our students prepare for what comes next. She is a blessing to our school!

A special thank-you to Pastor Brandt Jones and Providence Baptist Church. When our school van’s fuel pump failed, Pastor Brandt stepped in and drove us in the church van. We are very grateful for his help!

Thankful for a wonderful day together and the people God places alongside our school.

What a blessing to have three pastors share in discipleship at Waco Christian Academy over the past three weeks!

Thank you to Pastor Brandt Jones of Providence Baptist Church, Pastor Gregg Ward of Grace Baptist Church in Corbin, and Pastor Scott Rogers of Friendship Baptist Church for taking time to invest in our students. We’re grateful for each of you and for the churches that support the spiritual growth of our young people.

Hands-On Science at WCA! 🌎🎂

Mr. Wade Richardson’s students recently created a layered cake model of the Earth to help visualize its different layers.

It’s a great example of the hands-on learning we value at WCA—students learning by building, creating, and exploring.

And this science model had one extra benefit: they got to eat it afterward! 😄

It was a great opportunity to represent Waco Christian Academy at the Kentucky Continuous Improvement Summit in Lexington and spend time with other educational leaders committed to continuous growth and improvement.

I am thankful for the opportunity to learn from their experience and expertise. It was also a pleasure connecting and sharing ideas about school leadership, accreditation, and student success.

As a newly Cognia-accredited school, WCA is committed not only to maintaining accreditation, but to continually improving the way we serve our students and families.

Accreditation is a milestone. Continuous improvement is the journey.

WCA at 5 Across!

Our Waco Christian Academy students had an awesome opportunity to attend the 5 Across entrepreneurship event presented by Awesome Inc. at Mane on Main in Lexington!

Our students experienced the excitement of watching Kentucky entrepreneurs present their ideas, heard about innovation and business development, and even joined in some of the fun and interaction throughout the evening. Opportunities like this help our students see how creativity, hard work, communication, and courageous thinking can turn an idea into something meaningful.

A special thank-you to Pastor Raney for inviting our WCA students and making this experience possible. We also appreciate his sons and the important work they do with Awesome Inc.—especially Brian Raney, co-founder and CEO of Awesome Inc., which created and operates 5 Across.

We are grateful for community partners and friends who invest in our young people and introduce them to opportunities beyond the classroom. It was an educational, energetic, and truly awesome evening for WCA!

And just like that, we're back!

The doors opened, the backpacks came off the shoulders, and Waco Christian Academy started another year.

There were first day photos on the front walk. There were students who showed up ready to work and one who showed up carrying a globe, which feels about right for a school that wants its students thinking about the whole world. There were teachers in blue polos who had the rooms ready before anyone pulled into the lot. There was coffee. There was pickleball in the parking lot, because why not.

New classes, new schedules, new faces, and underneath all of it the same steady God who has carried this school since 2023.

To our teachers and staff: thank you for the hours nobody sees. To our families: thank you for trusting us with your kids. To our students: we are so glad you're here.
