Cadet Families here is a fun reading incentive program for Pre - K through 6th grade nationwide. At Connally ISD we want to nurture a true love of reading.

Follow the directions through the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program and create some reading goals!

BOOK IT! Summer of Stories is back for another fun-filled, nostalgic summer of reading adventures and pizza prizes!

Our summer program officially begins TODAY, June 1 and runs through August 31 for children in PreK–6th grade nationwide.

✨ The first official reward claim period opens July 1!

Parents, here are a few important reminders:

📅 Reading days must be marked on the calendar inside the BOOK IT! App. If you miss a day, you’re able to go back up to 7 days.
📖 Children must read at least 15 days within the month, and parents must track those reading days in the app calendar to qualify for their pizza reward.

If you experience any issues, please contact us before the end of the month using the Contact Support page located in the app menu or on our website so we can assist you in time.

We are excited to announce the name of an administrator that will serve in a key leadership position for the upcoming school year!

Hermann Pereira will serve as the district's Public Relations and Strategic Partnerships Coordinator. Mr. Pereira brings over 17 years of experience in education and community leadership to Connally ISD. A native of Houston, Mr. Pereira has proudly called Waco home for more than a decade and a half, where he has cultivated a strong passion for collaborative, community-focused service.

Throughout his career, Mr. Pereira has held diverse roles across both the education and nonprofit sectors. Prior to serving in his role in central administration, he served as the principal of Connally High School from 2023 to 2026.

Mr. Pereira holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master’s in Educational Administration from Baylor University. His dedication to education is matched by his deep commitment to serving others and fostering strong community relationships.

Mr. Pereira has a strong support system in his wife, Kassidy Pereira, who also teaches at Connally High School and coaches the dance team. Together, they enjoy raising their three children, and he takes great pride in supporting them in their various sports and activities. A passionate sports fan, Mr. Pereira especially enjoys cheering on his hometown team—the 2x World Series Champion Houston Astros.

We are incredibly excited to have Mr. Pereira on our team! Great things are on the horizon for Connally ISD!

We are excited to have Mrs. Betsy Burnett as the principal of our elementary campus next year!

We hope that our parents and students will make plans to get to know Mrs. Burnett by attending this week's MEET AND GREET!

The event will take place at 5:30 on Thursday, May 28 at the current Connally Primary School campus - soon to be the home of our Pre-K through 5th Grade students!
