Atlas Academy

Author, Sara Gama, came to read her story of completing a 260 mile boat race. Her chapter, "The Courage to Keep Going," is part of a 3 part Anthology called "The Art of Flourishing Collection."
Ms. Stone had the privilege of working as an editor on this project, and students from Ms. Stone and Mrs. Pasisis' classes got to have a Q&A session about the writing and editing process from beginning to end of publishing a book!

Mrs. Lively's 7th grade Math class is doing Sage and Scribe! One partner explains the steps to solve a problem and the other partner writes down what they say. Being able to teach what you know is a great way to show mastery and exercise important communication skills!

Intense review games over Earth Science are taking place in Mrs. Drake's 6th grade science class.

Mrs. Pasisis' 8th Grade English class excels in collaboration and respect. Students feel comfortable sharing their ideas during socratic seminars and support each other during student led instruction, lit circles, and partner reading. Keep up the good work future leaders!

Can you believe that just three weeks ago, most of these kids didn't know each other? Our ATLAS kids come from all over Waco and bring so many different experiences and stories to share with their classmates. It's great to see them making new friends!
