MISSION MONDAY!💙💛🏴‍☠️

Did you know the McLennan County Pack of Hope program is helping erase child hunger in McLennan County — one backpack at a time?

Each weekend, eligible students in participating school districts receive backpacks filled with nutritious food to help them thrive from Friday to Sunday, when school meals aren’t available.

🎉 This year, 123 Pack of Hope packs will support La Vega ISD students in PreK3–6th grades!

This number includes 81 packs provided through Pack of Hope, plus 42 additional packs made possible through a generous $15,000 contribution from the La Vega Pirates Education Foundation — for the 3rd year in a row! 💙💛

But we’re not stopping there! The La Vega Pirates Education Foundation has it's own food insecurity initiative and is providing Pirate Packs for students in grades 7th–12th, with 65 packs provided every week.

That means 188 weekend food packs are helping support La Vega ISD students each week!

When kids are fed, they can focus, learn, and shine in the classroom.

▪️Enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21.

✅ Just show up — no application, registration, or ID required.

Open Summer Meal Sites Starting 5/26/26:
📍La Vega Elementary
📍La Vega Intermediate School H.P. Miles Campus
📍NEW Location— Lions Park in Bellmead / LVISD Lunch Bus Express

All five La Vega ISD campuses and the Lunch Bus Express located at Lions Park are scheduled to be open on Monday, 6/01/26.
