As the semester comes to a close, we’re grateful for the generosity sparked through the Kappa Omicron Nu (KON) Food Drive. With Professor Brown’s support, we were able to donate two wagonloads of food to Baylor’s The Store this season.
The Store is Baylor’s on-campus food pantry that helps ensure students have access to the food and resources they need to thrive.

Baylor HSD was well represented at the 2025 NCFR Annual Conference in Baltimore!
Our Child & Family Studies students and faculty presented research centered on the intersection of technology and family dynamics. From the impacts of “ghosting” and social media usage to establishing healthy mobile media guidelines for children, these students are
tackling real-world issues facing modern families.
Thank you to Dr. Mickey Langlais, Dr. Nicole McAninch, Sarah Wade, and all of our amazing CFS faculty for mentoring these students and exemplifying why undergraduate research matters!

Last week (October 6-10), we celebrated Campus Children’s Centers Week with our friends at the Piper Center!
On “Music Monday,” Gretchen, a CFS and HSD alumna, now a toddler teacher at Piper, shared her guitar with preschoolers in the Welcome Garden. Later in the week, Baylor student-athletes joined for an outdoor obstacle-course and other hands-on fun, all highlighting the power of high-quality early childhood programs on our campus.
➡️ New this year: a fundraiser to support graduate student families connected to the Piper Center. If you’re able, please consider giving.
