In just its second year, the Clinic served 162 clients, more than tripling the number assisted during its inaugural year. Students worked directly with self-represented litigants, navigating complex family law matters and gaining hands-on experience as they helped families move forward with confidence. The Clinic also expanded access by assisting its first Spanish-speaking clients. As one client shared: “This was really amazing and helpful. I lost hope until now. Thank you.” https://law.baylor.edu/news/story/2026/baylor-law-schools-family-law-clinic-triples-impact-second-year

Baylor Law professor Rachel Kincaid recently published two law review articles focused on prison litigation and access to justice: “Access Denied: The Injustice of PLRA Exhaustion” and “Deliberately Silenced.”
Her scholarship explores the barriers incarcerated individuals face when seeking to vindicate their rights through the courts. We are proud to see Baylor Law faculty continuing to contribute meaningful scholarship on critical issues in the legal system.

Professor Chris Jaeger recently presented his latest scholarship, “A Two-System Theory of Negligence,” at the Harvard/Stanford/Yale Junior Faculty Forum at Yale Law School. Selected through a competitive national review process, he joined a small group of emerging legal scholars from across the country. His paper uses cognitive psychology, including the work of Nobel Prize-winning Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky, to examine how negligence law treats fast, instinctive thought processes differently from deliberate ones.
